Well I think all you guys whining about a tougher schedule just learned a lesson tonight. Too many new players and time will be needed.
No. Bowling green was an ok team. Our team should have been better. Coach doesn’t get another pass.
Better players- Same shit

If we are the "Same shit" with better players then why should we play a tougher schedule, Einstein?🙄

? We beat an NIT team tonight. Schedule can't be any tougher than it already is

Keep building those strawmen nice person. You proposed the bet tough guy and then ignored me. Give me 8-1 odds on BG winning 20 or more games if you are so confident they are a cupcake. Hell, give me 5-1.

Because beating shit gets you nothing. Not disagreeing with you. This was a good team to schedule. Especially for second game. But schedule still sucks

The coaching is still lacking and will bite us against better teams. To put it in perspective, BG was definitely the better coached team tonight. But talent prevailed. Let's just keep getting wins.

The coaches cant make Fts or improve Pond's shot selection.  I do put the inconsistent perimeter defense on the coaching staff

It's a lot more than missed FT's or shot selection. Just watch the other team. They backscreened, moved without the ball, always made the extra pass and almost stole the game. Like I said, SJU had superior talent but the coaching is still deficient. It's not hard to spot.

Team didn’t wake up until the 10 minute mark. Credit to LJ for getting us going. This was a sloppy game on both sides. Can’t blame Mullin for guys missing layups. They to practice.

Still, this is where continuity would have helped. We have a talented but new team. They need to learn how to play together, and there will probably be a couple of bad losses while figure it out.

Here's what happened:

You: Bowling Green is a likely NIT team
Me: No they aren't. I'll give you 8/1 that they make the NIT.
You: I want 8/1 that they will win 20 games.
Me: No, you said NIT team. Hell, I'll give you 10/1 that they make the NIT.
You: You proposed a bet and now you're ignoring me!

I'll give you 15/1 on Bowling Green being an NIT team this year. That seems like a slam dunk bet to make for something that's likely to happen, is it not?

Heron, Figgy, Keita, Dixon, and three freshman are all playing for the first time. We need time to let things shake out and guys to find their places. I think tonight was a big step in that direction. Heron is wrestling that second perimeter option away from Simon--who will have to adjust to playing 12 feet and in.

Won't be able to make the NCAAs with defense like that.  Lots to learn.   Luckily it's very early.

I said they look "like likely"an NIT team not that they were "likely." It was a typo. I'm not going to bet who a committee picks...automatic bids go out to conference winners and that could dwindle the at-larges to next to nothing.

I guarantee they win 20+ games. Cupcakes don't win 20+ games in the MAC. You're so sure they are a cupcake...take the bet. If not shut the f*ck up about the schedule.

Absolutely, they are moving the ball fairly well but could improve, attribute that somewhat to 2 crucial new guys who everyone has to learn to play with.  20 to 8 TO balance great, -10 rebounding a serious concern, Trimble played D well today and the minutes played showed it.  Team must learn not to watch Ponds and Herron and keep moving, a bit too much one on one.

I get the chemistry thing. I hope that's all it is and I agree to an extent. I do see big flaws in the system, or lack thereof that CM runs, but I'm not going to bash it as long as we keep winning and gelling.

True. Like I just said to Marillac, I'm all for time to build the chemistry and hopefully that cures some of these ills.

So between Heron, Dixon, Figueroa, and Keita there are a good amount of guys who never played a real game with each other.

I'm encouraged at the chemistry after two games and think the floor is pretty high. Things will get cleaned up.

I'm with you. They look like a good team regardless of how they finish they were a good test tonight. Going up against preseason first team conference big man in Wiggins was a nice test.

I said on the other site after the game he played well that I did not think Dixon's game will translate because of how small and frail he is.
And that was on offensive end. He played the worst most uninterested defense I think I have seen from a ST John's guard.

Exactly. I'm actually really happy with how our "bigs" played him. Their two big guys combined for 15 pts 16 boards and 6 turnovers. Heron and Clark combined for 41 puts, 11 boards, and just three turnovers. And Simon scored back to back post ups for easy baskets.

That's how you beat size. Hold your own on D and make them pay on offense.

What would Owens have done? He would have been on ice skates against a 240 lb big and given less than nothing on offense. No thanks.

Dixon didn't have a good game. He's a smaller, more skilled Simon. He makes some bad decisions, but he's quick and he hustles. I don't have the same impression as you with his D. He's just slight and will struggle with screens.

Figgy-Heron-Ponds and even Clark for his position just all play on the same wave length and very controlled. Trimble too to a lesser degree. Simon and Dixon are wild and mistake prone.

He had a stretch that almost singlehandedly turned a 7 point lead into a 2 point deficit, why do you think he barely played in 2nd half.
