Last night wasnt his best, but I think I take Ponds.  And I surprised myself with that pick, Hardy would be my #2 FWIW.

The answer is obviously Ponds. He would score 50 on Harrison or Hardy.

Out of this group, it’s Ponds.

But the two squads from 1998-2000 had Artest, Bootsy and Barkley.

Bootsy hit one of the biggest jumpers in St.John’s history. That man deserves a bobble head at the very least.

If you go way back...I'd take Walter Berry.  Mullin was great...but human.  Berry...superhuman.

Ponds has by far the least amount of wins.  I voted Hardy!

Depends on who else is on the team and who they're playing.

Ponds
If we make tourney he moves ahead of Hatten on best Johnny list for me even though Hatten actually played with worse guys.

Hatten.  In his two years, he tooks us to an ncaa appearance and an nit title.  He played with worse players.  He also averaged more points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks (and turnovers).  If ponds leads us to an ncaa win or two I may feel different but for now it’s hatten.

Artest.

He could, and did, play all five positions. He could box out, rebound, dribble and shoot. Come back on defense, and "D" up anyone from the 5 to top of the key. He was The Guy on those late 90s teams that also lead to the Riverside Church guys [Barkley, Jessie, Glover].

Not sure if you’re using season or career stats but this year vs hatten’s senior year, ponds is averaging more points, assists, steals and only 1 TO to hattens 3+

Hardy's run his senior year was incredible. Team won meaningful games on his back.

If I had one game I'd probably take Erick Barkley. The kid was a pit bull and a winner all the way.

Boo Harvey and Ponds would be right on his tail. Boo was so clutch with the game on the line. Bootsy Thornton was prime time. That game against Duke was legendary.

Hatten isn't even close to Ponds. Harrison and Hardy aren't even close to Hatten.

Hatten's teams were setup to complement him. #1 rebounding team in the nation. Tough defense. Ponds would have had back to back NCAA appearances and would have won a game.

Was really incredible and take nothing away from him but for comparison to ponds and hatten he never had more than 5 assists or 6 boards in a game.

I know you just didn't compare Marcus Hatten's stats in a full slate of games in the old Big East to Ponds stats in 5 games against what I have been assured is the worst schedule in college basketball history, so you must be making a different point.

Hardy was a poor athlete that was bad on defense and a complete non factor on the glass.

Harrison was a poor athlete but he was built strongly and played acceptable defense with excellent rebounding. Skilled kid.

Hatten was an excellent defender and rebounder and the best athlete out of the four by quite a bit. He was the least skilled however and not a player that would make others around him better IMO.

Ponds has the best hands and instincts I've seen in the college game...ever. He rebounds as well if not better than those guys. He plays better defense than Hardy and Harrison, he is BY FAR the best PG of the group. He is the most skilled across the board, and he is by far the best scorer. He has the ability to make everyone around him better.

I think Ponds would have led Hatten's team to a sweet 16 and then the round of 32. Those teams were setup to support an alpha scorer.
