The Bees Knees - 77

Unbounded optimism sweeps the board as we're off to the best season start in many a year.

It’s not so crazy. We’ve played down to our competition’s level more than once.

But I’m going to guess that at some point, we come out strong, and stay strong. On a neutral court, Georgia Tech probably won’t have any sort of a home court advantage.

They struggle to score the ball, and while their defense might be further along that ours, I expect that we’ll outscore them, and jump out to a twenty point lead, or more by halftime. I think Mullin will give the kids some burn once we extend the lead to 30 points.

The final will be 82-61. Figueroa, Heron and Dixon continue to score with ease.

I predict we see 5 guys standing around the 3 point line jacking up shots. If we hit 40 percent we win by 10 plus. If not ponds wins it by himself in a close one.

You guys do know the Yellow Jackets are an ACC team, not a traditional southern black college, right?

I didn't see the Northwestern game but I thought GT played Tennessee tough.  A game we should win but tougher than some think.

I'm factoring in the awful travel schedule for a young team. They played a hard 40 minutes and have just 60 hours between the end of that game and the start our game with a flight or two and a long drive to the airport.

Good call. Throw in Clark with early foul trouble, and eventually fouling out. First half and second half will be night and day. Figgy, not Ponds, will bail us out. St Johns wins, take GT and the points.

I predict progress. I'm staying positive. We've been causing lots of turnovers, and that's effort. That's been consistent. I think we finish on the other end and when we don't, we settle for less 3's than normal. LJF and Dixon are trending up and should be super confident going into this one. I wish Marvin had played better recently, but I'm not too concerned yet. I think he'll be more cognizant of shot selection and get to the rim a little more (which, I know, isn't always a great thing, but I like it better than him jacking up 3's). Shamorie and Mustapha give us 40, 13 boards and 8 assists. It will be a good Saturday!!

They're 20 years old.  That stuff doesn't matter.

You've clearly never had to stay in hotels for competition and definitely never had to supervise players in a trip with that statement. Kids ordering pizza at midnight, chatty kathies to 3 AM...and that's if you're lucky enough to dodge girls, drinking and drugs.

Clearly your dead wrong.  I've taken college kids on multiple extended road trips with only myself to deter the pitfalls you describe above.
