This team defends for periods in the game but never for an entire game. I don’t recall our 3 point shooting percentage ever being as high as it is right now. Can it be sustained? Yes, it can. Georgia Tech and VCU play strong defense, and if it worked against them, it can work against the Hall and Nova. No reason why it wouldn’t.

Although VCU and GT play solid defense they are not good teams. This is the concern I have going into league play. Will we be able to sustain our offensive efficiency during BE play against better teams? That is what Mullin is staking his success on, not defense, not offensive rebounding, offense. We needed Ponds to be all world to beat VCU and GT, if we play like that in BE play we’ll be lucky to finish .500.

You make a good point about Mullin focusing on offense. This is a team and hopefully a program built in his image - one that can score.

Are they saving energy on defense by taking plays off? Maybe so. When you play 6/7 guys, and all of them are being asked to play bigger than they are, they’re gonna be working hard to keep up the intensity for the duration of the game. I remember seeing how exhausted Ponds was during the VCU game. And to that point, VCU is absolutely a good team, and that is absolutely a strong W on our resume. As far as Tech goes, the jury is out, but they’re not clearly a bad team or a clearly a good one right now. They could still have a good year because their non conference wasn’t so far off from respectable.

Purchased 5 tix thru SJ athletic office. Section 4.

Have seen better tix on Stubhub but wanted to sit with Johnnies fans.

I called the school box office and they said they were closed till after the New Year.

Still tix on Stubhub but no good deals. Expensive for the seat location. Hot game plus they don’t open upper tier.

Game not televised in Flagstaff! Curse you Suddenlink (the cable carrier here) and/or Fox Sports.

The game is on yes network in NYC. If you can't get it elsewhere, maybe you can stream the game on Fox sports go or yes network. Most of the time if you can't get a game on live TV you will be able to stream it.

biggest game of the year, biggest game to kick off the big east i can remember recently...fight hard, lets make a statement -- don't let Powell beat you has to be the game plan -- hopefully Ponds doesn't try to do too much vs him because of their history

Good luck in BE all!

May we have a conference season devoid of an 11 game losing streak.

For the fans that live in the Lone Star State, the game is on FSSSW

I believe it’s fox sports west.

Great start. We need to keep the foot on the gas without fouling.

Good start but the man D was working well, then a switch to zone gives up two easy layups
