Steere won't have to pay his own way for the Spring semester now

I thought about this as he played only 4 minutes vs. Marquette. Mullin looked kind of pissed at him when he traveled under the basket.

I’m ok with Williams getting more minutes but disappointing he couldn’t finish the year.

Let me add that honestly looks like a kid who is better served at a lower level.

Despite some on here not seeing it Mullin would pull him whenever he would not closeout as well. He was only playing 19 mins or so and don't want to lay it all at his feet but sure the fact that our D improving once he stopped getting minutes was not a coincidence

I don't think the kid is a BE level talent unfortunately and I saw that from early on in the season. Trimble isn't either but at least he busts his ass on D

Sat out last year, played half a season this year and will play half a season next year. That's rough. Played 4 mins in each of the past 2 games and the game looked slightly too fast for him in that limited time. Wish him well. Will probably land back at the MAAC level if I had to guess.

Time for Williams to get thrown into the fire which is fine by me.

I thought for sure he'd be gone at the end of the season after the last few games.  He just doesn't have the IQ it appears and his constant mental lapses were very troubling.

I'm surprised he'd leave now, though, but I guess the second semester hasn't officially started so he could play somewhere next December.

Best of luck to him, his PT would have gotten smaller as we moved along but depth is always an issue

Just the state of college basketball nowadays.

I thought he could help at times with some instant offense but any hope he would replace Ponds next year went away quickly.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

Knowing what we know now, I believe that this was the plan all along.

Again I agree but I def saw lack of effort on D. Which really made him one of my least favorite players here in awhile.
Trimble plays hard. Looking forward to more Williams though.

Sorry to see Mikey go but it might be best for him as maybe the aspirations were too high.  This frees up a 2019 scholarship--now let's get Precious.

See and we were agreeing on Mullin stuff and anti -Tony stuff but then you went off the rails.
Kid was lacking ability and size but had some skills. Unfortunately he did not play hard and staff found better options and he pouted.
This is not the movie One on One. There was no evil plan. Kid was not that good, did not play hard and pouted. Time to go.

Agree with everyone above, he's not a Big East talent. Terrible defensive player, weak handle, lost in the mix offensively. Bryan needs to step up now, looking forward to Greg getting expanded minutes. I'm really glad that this news isn't about Greg, could've easily been.

Bench productivity has been abysmal offensively all season, I'm not sweating this.

At first didn’t think it made sense for him to leave now but I actually think if he waited till end of the year he would lose a complete season. This way he can play 1 1/2 years at new place. He wouldn’t have been my choice but I wish him well!
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Good luck to Mickey

With any transfer, if you don't want to be here...   leave..

Team has a game on Saturday that they need to win..

Hopefully the much more athletic Williams seizes the opportunity to play more.
