I'm not happy about it as I generally prefer upper classman to under classman unless they're of the ilk that Puke and Kentucky get that we don't.
We're now 1 player loss away from being woefully shorthanded yet again and you know that's coming soon as afterall - We Are....
Kid was shooting 47% from the field and 44% from three and while slight, was lightning quick. His lack of hustle and defensive deficiencies were largely exaggerated figments of Wasju's over active imagination. Yes, he's a better defender than Michigan.
The backup point is now a player that some of the boards more knowledgable basketball minds describe as a 4/5.
The first choice of a "scoring" option off the bench is now a guard shooting 31% from the field and 29% from three ( 47/44 minus 31/29 - divide by two carry the one...is a lot ) that's reticent to dribble or drive and a leaper/slasher that doesn't appear to be a microwave zone buster.
Once way back I was leaving the garden and saw Dexter Grey by himself getting into a cab. I thought to myself, he didn't even have enough time to take a shower; and doesn't he have to take the bus back to Queens with the rest of team? He was never seen from again. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now.
Note to Mikey:
The Great Danes would be a perfect landing spot.
Came out after every missed defensive assignment and his minutes disappeared. Thankfully Chris Mullin was paying attention. You simple were not watching. Honestly hard for me to take anyone serious basketball wise that did not pick up on Dixon's poor defense. Was pretty glaring.
Normally I am pretty understanding when it comes to defense and will take offense over D every day as long as the person's offense makes up for his defensive deficiency.
That was not the case with Dixon who was a tremendous liability.
Look at SH game. Dixon did his best to get a struggling Powell going. Uncontested 3, blow by layup and foul on 3 of 4 possessions. Dixon came out and was never heard from again. That is just most recent case. This was alarming early in season.
