It is funny how certain posters disappear. Back in the day the anti Norm guys would still come on if team won or played well. Pretty apparent anti Mullin guys are mostly just trolls and not real fans.

No one in their right mind supported Norm Roberts after the shit job he did in year three. The only fraud was the man who hired him, and then insisted on keeping him.

As far as Mullin goes, it’s only fair that he get the credit for the program he’s building, but let’s not act like losing 11 straight conference games last year was just bad luck.

Let’s hope that this season is the beginning of many more like it.

Norm gets a bad rap.  He took over a program in disarray after a year in which players were thrown off the team and a walkon was starting.  What kid is going to want to come to a program in that state?  It took him a few years but he eventually recruited some good second tier kids and developed them.  Unfortunately he was fired a Lavin benefited. I was impatient as anyone but in retrospect he was in an impossible condition.   

Want this one. Nova gave us some real beatings the first couple years of the Mullin era. I think we win.

He inherited Showtime (ranked top 25 as a recruit by some) and Hamilton (ranked top 75) going into their soph years!!!! Both went on to make all Big East. He was also gifted his best recruit from his high school teammate and landed and misused Cedric Jackson who went on to make the NBA.

He was 24-84 at Queens College. 24-84!!!!!!!!

His Big East Record with that massive junior class of Hardy, Brownlee, DJ, Horne, et al finished 6-12...again, as JUNIORS with 5th year senior Anthony Mason Jr. As sophs they were 6-12. As freshmen they were 5-13. There was no improvement. No hope. Dark times.

Without knowing all the other rosters of the BE too well, I do think that we match up the best against Nova. I don’t think jay wright teams are very susceptible to blowouts tho. Maybe win by 10

I loved his defense, athleticism, hustle. He was a frustrating offensive player. His coach at Cleveland St. helped him become competent on that end by tweaking his shot mechanics. I think we can all agree it was extremely unlikely that Norm would have done that for him.

I don't bet often, but i threw down a few shekels on SJU plus 6.

He was the worst offensive player.  The rim would block his shot regularly.
