No shot it'll be that low. That would essentially mean we are 1 point better than Gtown plus the 3 point home edge. It'll be in the 8-9 range

That is a well known and often used sports tenant. Hard to believe you must not have heard of it. Doesn't mean you have to believe in it.

I’ll admit I have never heard that, or at least have ignored it. Apologies if it was simply a tongue in cheek repeating.

I don’t believe in it just like I don’t believe in a lot of dumb sayings and unwritten rules that seem to exist around sports.

Go 7-5 to end the regular season and we are fine.  No game specific game is a must win, but this is the easiest game remaining.
That will put us on the bubble.

Our scoring prowess has really taken a hit in recent weeks. Is there a correlation to Shamorie's injury, conference foes knowing our sets, not being able to get out in transition via defensive turnovers or all of the above:

Team scoring:

--OOC play (12-0): 84.25 ppg

--BE play (3-4): 79.1 ppg

--Recent losing skid (1-3): 73.5 ppg

Shamorie BE shooting metrics:

69% FT, 41% 3P, 43% FG

Some glaring team stats nationally which need improvement:

--As a team we're 337/351 in Offensive RPG. (7.5 rpg)

--193/351 in 3pt FG defense (opponents shooting 34.1%)

--243/351 in total fouls, 8 man rotation averaging 18 fouls per gam

Section 116

Closer to 4 than 8-9. We may only be 1 point better than Gtown and MSG not that big of a home court adv.

Cmon guys
G-town was -1.5 last night. Think we were 4.5 over Creighton.

I think it will be -4.5 St. John’s. We will find out Sunday. I wouldn’t lay 8.5

We were coming off a win over Marquette and they were missing two starters. And we needed a miracle to get to OT.

Zero chance line is 8.5 or even close.

A) I never said I’d take SJU at that line

B) We’re 4-3 vs GTown in our last 7 games despite being an under .500 team the past 2 seasons. So, of all the teams that have owned us over the past couple seasons, GTown is far from one of them

I actually didn't factor in the two missing players. They wouldn't move the spread that much though, maybe half a point to a point. Maybe it'll be 8 or 7.5. It sure won't be 4

GT has lost four of their last five, three at home and the one win versus last place PU, who stink, despite being coached by Ed Cooley's diseased head. GT is not a good match up for SJ and maybe we lose because they have an experienced X and O guy like Louis Orr, who had five winning season out of 13 as a head coach. But I hope not. Plus six-ish seems a reasonable spread, I take more than that and give less.

Reasonable. Get ready to bet Georgetown if that's the case

Ponds's free throw shooting has really been puzzling.  His career percentages say that he will turn it around, but it's been going on for awhile, now.  I don't know if this is good or bad, but he does not appear to be doing anything different WRT form, delivery, etc.
