I enjoyed the announcer on the LJ charge non call early saying to the effect of—yeah we have to eliminate flops like that from the game, people are flopping on every play...yada yada yada...looks like Figueroa got away with one there.

Dude was double talking all night.

relative to some of the other games, I thought the officiating was pretty good.

No. It was ontologically awful.

Our best 5 are Ponds-Trimble-Heron-Figueroa-Clark.

Wally Pipp moment tonight.

I like Trimble but there is no comparison.  Simon is important defensively, against Marquette he will be instrumental in owning Howard yet again.  His only problem is obvious, needs to rein in his shooting because he cant shoot unless he is wide open (and then it is still an adventure)

26 pts 8 rbs 8 asts 6 stls. W @creighton

I still don't see ponds as an NBA player due to his on ball defense.  He is better than Jimmer Fredette but has some of the same problems.  Would be a legend in China.

Let’s wait to see how he does when his minutes are dependent on how well he defends. His defensive instincts are out of this world. Is his on ball defense great? No. But im not writing him off as a bad defender when he literally carries an offensive team for 35 minutes a game while also grabbing 5 boards and getting 2 steals. That’s a lot to ask.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

You can tell that he worked on everything the scouts told him to work on this offseason.

If he doesn't get drafted this year  (I'm talking before middle of the second round), then it's just not going to happen for him.  Expect him to go overseas, if he is not drafted, because IMO, he gains nothing by coming back.

Mullin deserves credit for keeping the team together after a disheartening loss and refining the offense which looked much tighter. Players of course played better but to ignore those adjustments is dishonest

And also for wearing loafers so he didn't have to  tie his shoes during time outs.  ;)  ;)

What adjustments did Mullin make that you are referring to? What did he “refine”? Ponds played better. Simon was sick and didnt play as much which impacts the way a team can defend us. That goes to show what adjustments this coach could make to counter how teams have been playing us. Unfortunately Simon’s floor time wasn’t by design, it wasn’t an “adjustment” by Mullin, it took a freakin act of God.

Doug McDermott's father expressed a different opinion in the post-game press conference, Yet another basketball professional you know more than.

Much sharper passing and passing with intent, more of a focus on taking the ball to the lane when there was nothing on the outside. There were very few forced shots, that isn’t by accident.

There's no defense in the Nba. He'll fit right in.
