Huge win. Gotta really improve our play with leads. Offense freezes up. Ponds owns Howard.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

What a rebound by LJ. The last 5 minutes of every game he is making big plays. Love him
Big play after big play at the end of nearly every win.

Big resume boosting win. Need to go 5-3 down the stretch and win a BE tourney game to get about a 10 seed. 4-4 and a BE tourney win and we probably get in as a 12/13 seed.

Think 7 seed is still in play with a strong finish.

I think if we go 5-3 plus a BET win we're looking at the 8-9 game. 4-4 and a win a 9-11 seed. 3-5 and a win, bubble. Anything less than that, we're out.

Lucky win. Hot takes:

1. Fire Mullin

2. What happened to Simon, he used to be good, that's on the staff.

3. Also on the staff, Marvin Clark, zero points. Tom Izzo knew exactly what he was doing.

4. Trimble, DNP. I sense a transfer.

5. A lot of you guys blame things on the refs but I thought MU absolutely deserved to make more FTs than SJ took, especially in a one point game.

5a. Hauser looked to have been fouled on the last shot, St John's got lucky there.

6. Was hoping to see more of Earlington, we need more depth at the end of the bench, see also that's on the staff.

7. Mitch Richmond is shiftless and lazy and wtf is Greg St Jean good for?

8. I felt some sort of odd emotion at the end of the game, at first I thought it might have been joy and satisfaction but then I remembered that I don't know what those things are.  If any of you know what it might have been email me at sittingonthetoilet@LIRR.com

As always, it depends who the wins and losses are against. Home win vs Nova and away loss at Xavier is different than home win vs providence and away loss at DePaul.

Edit::tho generally I think one win BET won’t look good for tourney resume. Still think we will be ranked and be a 5 seed

Howard is visibly shook around Ponds. How many times has he not been the most dynamic player on the court in his life? He’s not when he plays Ponds.

I thought they’d have some kind of great player embrace at the end since this might be their last ever matchup, but Ponds is cold!

Great thing is that everybody that played contributed to the win. Some more than others obviously but nobody out there did nothing to help

Trimble wore his hood all game. Not a good sign.

Caught Mullin looking at his shoes a couple times, realizing they were already tied he was forced to pretend to coach. No way this lasts.

Looking ahead over the next 8 games and we will essentially not be underdogs in any of them. Maybe a 1 or 2 point dog to Villanova but that's it.

6-2 should be very reasonable. 5-3 at the absolute worst and we will need to win a BET game. 4-4 would be a problem.

Home vs Providence, Home vs Butler, Home vs SHU and Home vs Xavier should be wins.

Home vs Nova, @Providence, @DePaul and @Xavier are toss ups. Go win 2 of them.

What a win. Roller Coaster. Heart attack. Ponds, Simon soooo clutch.

What's going on with Marvin? He's been pretty bad the last few games, would you consider taking him out of the starting lineup? He's been lost

Great road trip taking 2 of 3. (more important they were league games)  The defense by Simon et. al. on Howard was fantastic and Kudos to Herron for his defense on the last play on Howard and NOT fouling.  Ponds perfect night from FT line was another key.  If someone said we would get NO points from Marv and still win, I would have thought they were crazy.  Let's keep the mojo against the Friars on Saturday and fill the Garden for the Brunch time start

Great effort and tough win on the road. Toughest part of our schedule is over, hopefully we can string a few wins.

The beauty of the round robin Marillac. In the third year that these two have matched up, they both walked into the same tunnel after the game not even looking at one another. A true rivalry between Sham/Howard that Sham has dominated.

There is no longer a "two teams (Nova/Marquette) and everyone else" conversation. Tonight tore up that completely. A season sweep of Marquette, top10 road win will do wonders for us and is it doesn't get any better than right now for Chris Mullin and staff. Take care of Nova in the Garden in a couple of weeks and our ticket is punched.

Getting sweep on best (or 2nd best) team in Big East is huge. However it got done it got done.

What about the job Simon did on Howard? Can’t overlook his performance! Great!

Nice win against a good team. From here my guess: wins 2 Xavier, SHU, and 1 Providence. 1 Providence loss. A win over Villanova, provided the refs play fair. Not enough depth to win the Big East Tournament. Might see Duke again in the NCAA. This we might run Jones into picks with Ponds getting ten more points than Zion Williamson.
