Trimble has to be the best no-stat player of all-time. He pinned Nova big men to his back several times to let other gets huge boards. His D is tough. He doesn’t make mistakes often.
Keita okayed well in defense too.
Trimble was a beast

Trimble is solid. Does the dirty work and is well aware of his limitations, which is important.

And he still has plenty of room to grow. He hasn’t shown it yet but he seems like the guy that can develop some old mans game.

Need players like that who would do the little things which equate to winning basketball.

UNFREAKINGBELIVABLE ATMOSPHERE.

Best game at MSG i've seen in forever.

Holy Moly. What a second half, to come back from 19, with Ponds taking the night off, what an effort. Unreal. Got great defensive effort in the 2nd half, they shot 20%, that 20-5 run was something. Put LJ in the hall of fame!!
Yes great defense was key as well as shot making by Figgy and Heron. If Figgy was Batman today Heron was at least Robin. Great win and hopefully a confidence builder to go on to bigger and better things. Comeback win like this against our nemesis may do more for our confidence than either Marquette win.

Paschal was awful yesterday,  kudos to Trimble. He resorted to 3s until it was too late

What a game took my dad and 2 of my buddies with me. First time i was able to drag my dad to a game since 2007 season. My two buddies who are UNC and ND fans were on the feet cheering for St. Johns. ( The City gets behind winners)  What a great comeback from the team and Ponds was a complete no show in the scoring column. Team fought through. Figgy is a fan favorite and had a monster game. That was the loudest i have ever heard the Garden and the place was rocking last night. Nova fans next to me said this will be scary if they can be consistently good again.....Hope the recruits were happy to see what it could be like with the whole city behind them.....Will be there Saturday vs the Hall and my dad will make his second game in a row. He has bought in!

Half time adjustments by the empty suit and his child bride lead the paper tigers to an unlikely comeback versus the national champions on their home floor. Kudos to Steve Lavin recruits LJ Figueroa and Mustapha Heron for leading the way.

19-7, aka 20-6, and 20-4 with their starting five intact. Imagine where they'd be if they had Jamal Branch. Probably undefeated.

No no no, lj and heron were not lavin recruits, they were just recruits that Mullin got with blind luck. Could you imagine where this team would be if he didn’t convince all of his team that they should come to St. John’s? Well actually, there wouldn’t even be a St. John’s at that point.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

I'd say definitely undefeated if you add Amar A ...

I have a feeling Trimble will have a monster NCAA tournament game for us this year.

That’s how they bet us last time...off made bad shots. But Jay Wright was a guru for that and Mullin is just lucky when they miss their contested shots this time.

If he gets some real burn I think he will. They need to give him a lot of minutes. Simon does certain things well but when Trimble came in for him yesterday just like when he played a lot more minutes at Marquette this team seems to play at a higher level. At least in these two examples.

While Trimble did some nice things not related to the boxscore he still had another 0 point game. That is his 10th game where he registered a 0 in the point column. In all 10 of those games he also registered 0 assists.

This isn't meant to pile on Trimble but we simply need more assertiveness from him. Can't just be a ball mover and hard fouler.

Disagree. I thought he played his role great. He was physical, boxed out, and played within himself. He even got fouled going to the basket. We don’t need him jacking up 28 footers

Obviously there are loftier goals of winning the BET and then advancing to atleast the 2nd wknd of the Tourney, but this season is officially a success. It doesn't get better than last night, a environment like that is why we're fans. Considering the only 1/351 fanbases are smiling in early April, you have to bask in moments like this.

This team has made their mark in program history and are the talk of the town. Closing in on the best regular season since 1999.

They didn’t give him an inch. His presence alone helps the spacing for the others.

I am going to watch for that. Haven’t noticed. If I were the other team I would let him shoot until he made one or two.
