Can we wait to see how this season ends before we start ranking this years team?

This year's team has 3-4 NBA prospects and is en route to having the best regular season in 20 years. They're deserving on being polled against other NCAA teams of years past and can go down as right there w the 99', 00' teams.

10-11 team was unique in today's college basketball environment with about 10 seniors of whom 6 played 4 years together and 2 transfers who played 2 years with them.  Today we would look at them as a make up of a mid major. Lavin was incredibly lucky to be left with the "kitchen" fully loaded.  The problem was the lack of balance of the scholarships.

Norm bought the ingredients but Hollywood cooked the stew.  If Norm had remained as chef he would have left out the Hardy and Brownlee and the meal would have sucked.

The awesome job Lavin did here, and at Ucla for that matter, can not be diminished by naysayers.

Would you feel that way if they finished 2-3 these next 5 games and were ousted in the first round of the NCAA tournament? This story is far from over.

Just curious who are the 3-4 NBA prospects? Shamorie is second round/g-league/ bound for Europe unless he has an insane tournament to raise his stock. Who are the others? I see good college players but not NBA players on this roster. Seems g-league at best. Maybe next year with some top recruits....

Ponds, Simon, Heron, LJF. Have you ever watched basketball before?

I can see Heron maybe LJ making noise if they improve next couple seasons but Simon has not balanced his game well this year.  We need blue chips.

Why do we need them? Obviously it would be nice but we’re doing ok w/o.

If you can’t see nba potential in LJ’s body and skill set I’m not sure what to tell you. Simon obv has a ways to go but he has the athleticism and size to make it. He isn’t quite an nba level defender but there are plenty of guys that have stuck around because of defense with worse offensive games than his.

I disagree. He was cursed. 11 seniors is historically poor roster balance. Lavin was never able to balance or fill out a roster and are still feeling the effects of that.

Blue chippers (and not just 1, multiple) can get us being top 10 again. We do not want to just be content with top 25 if we are serious about being a power again. I agree LJ has potential but he is not there and not the surefire NBA player at this point. Lets see how he finishes this year.

He is not the only one to think Simon is an NBA prospect

If you combined Simon’s body and LJ’s skill you’d have an NBA player.

I don’t think LJ has the physical talent to play in the NBA but maybe he can make up for it with his skill and IQ.

His IQ is the highest I can remember since Kennedy. He isn’t super athletic but does know where to be so makes up for it. He is tall and long tho, which is important.

So we're going to have to fight G'Town with 7'0, 275 lb Yertseven next year ?
