They turn the ball over and foul too much. They don’t shoot well or  have strong guard play. Ponds will go off on them. The next time Ponds gets bullied physically will be the first. He can be out-quicked but not out-muscled.

Tyrique Jones is a Marillac favorite, but they don’t scare me as a team if we are on.

You’re talking to Ponds official #1 fan after you took yourself out of contention, but stronger guards have been giving him trouble last few weeks. Providence and butler. Xavier’s two guards are bigger and stronger than both.

We kick their dicks in.

We've not handled big physical teams well all year. They're on a 4 game streak. We've been streaky all year and this is time for a down game. We have the CA advantage but how exactly does that translate to "kicking their dicks in".

They’ll give him problems getting from 35 points to 40.

Xavier has been fairly awful at defending the 3 this year but have been better at it lately. Going to be a decent amount of drive and kick opportunities for us. Have to take advantage

CA home cooking plays a big factor in turning X over into the team that lost 6 straight. Keita does a good job on Zach Hankins. We finally see some consistency. Intensity will be at fever pitch from bench and stands for Shamorie, Marv and probably MH's last game in Queens-

I’ve seen Xavier a grand total of about 5 minutes this year, but I liked what we saw from our big men and Ponds on Saturday. Hope there is even more for Keita to contribute and I think there will be.

Ok, I’ll text Mullin to sit the twin towers starting lineup.

You’re out. Marillac is back as prez unless you beat the 35 pt prediction.

Pretty sure we list Clark at 6’7 230. Clark is a strong guy but jones listed at just 5 pounds heavier can completely control him physically.
Gonna need to mix in a zone for a few minutes against these guys.

Cough duke prediction cough cough. You’ve lost you’re delegation privileges.

I’m one of the few who doesn’t think Ponds needs to score 25 to have a great game. I’m fine with 16-24 pts on good shots and getting his team involved. I don’t think this is a team he dominates by scoring, I think he’ll have to be as much, if not more, of a playmaker.

I watch St. John's basketball and one America East and one CAA team, period until the Ncaa's.  This weekend in a rarity I happened to watch some of Xavier and Villanova. Xavier looked pretty good and their homecourt looked ridiculously tough to get road wins at.

Losing this one would fit our conference season long win one lose one mojo perfectly.  I want a win here badly as I like dancing and the Thursday night session works much better for me than the day session.

I'm guardedly optimistic with a large sprinkle of nervousness.

Leads the BE in steals with 2.67 and is 9th nationally. LJ comes in 3rd and Simon is 10th. Not bad

Confused, wasn’t taking a slight at him at all. Best defensive hands I’ve ever seen.

Otherwise it may be a Providence like pounding ... but I am hoping we come out so much faster so by the time they realize their massive height advantage ... it's too late .

between the rebounds we get and the steals we can run plenty.  Everyone outrebounds us but if we keep it within 10 bounds we should win easily.  They are big but not particularly talented or quick.  Expect 10+ steals and forcing a lot of TOs.  We are a problem matchup for them more than they are for us.

SJ 78 - X 66

Yes, they've won 4 in a row, but this is not last year's Xavier team.

They turn the ball over a lot, have trouble scoring, and their guard play is erratic.  They haven't gotten an injured star player back or anything. It's not as though they're a different team than the one that lost 6 BE games in a row -- Creighton only had to inbounds the ball up 2 with 20 seconds when they threw it towards Xavier's basket for a tying layup (was that they 4th game they've given away?), they caught a slow starting Seton Hall team (we've seen that act) that is 4 and 7 in their last 11 BE games, and they had a tired legs Nova team come into Cintas that was cruising toward their 3rd road loss of the week, after having us come back from 19 down against them and getting manhandled by Georgetown in DC.

We're 5 and 2 in our last 7 league games, Xavier's a lousy road team, and Carnesecca will be insane.

I don’t realize how good Tre Jones was. 90 seconds in I posted how much better Jones was than Duval.

Ponds is an awesome facilitator but our guys don’t always finish well. That’s why he will have to take over.
