I'm not sure Mullin would be as opposed to that as you think. Mullin has ceded plenty of authority to Greg St Jean when it comes to strategy and running the huddle during timeouts. Perhaps Mullin wouldn't be as kind to an older more experienced coach taking a little bit of control but I don't think he's necessarily a dictator. But who knows, maybe he is and that's why he decided to keep his staff the same despite their glaring ineptitude.
You're right ceding is definitely not it. Simply needs more help. This staff doesn't know what they don't know.
Mullin- 3 years
Richmond- 3 years
St. Jean- 3 years
Abdelmassih- 8 years
Huey- 0 years
This might be by far the least experienced staff in the country especially at the high major level. Matt is the most experienced coach on staff and he's far from the clipboard and practice operations.
We would benefit with a more experience from assistant coach to DOBO. Especially guys from winning programs and not internally promoted managers / GA's.
Nova- Dwayne Anderson 5 years as an assistant coach under Pat Chambers is their DOBO
Marquette- Rob Judson has 30+ years experience coaching is special assistant to first time head coach Wojo
Could go on and on
