Whatever happens tonight doesn’t change anything that happened during the last 4 years.

No, if it goes in our very deserving favor, it changes everything.

What's wrong with you?

I agree with this as far as Texas and Indiana are concerned. However, the committee may view this season as the perfect opportunity to try to show they don't hate mid majors and throw a Belmont or UNCG in there at the expense of a power conference team.

One other thing to consider... The NCAA Tournament is a business and it makes it money through TV. Maybe, just maybe the powers that be see this as a chance to get the play-in game TV ratings a bump by having a NYC market team in there. Maybe.

Mullin himself may also play a role for us.  Not that I think he's a good coach by any means, but his name and storyline could even give us a nudge, as this would be his first time in the dance as a coach.

If you had asked me two weeks ago about our chances of dancing, then I'd have said "easily."  I still think we make it based on having some solid wins, but I'd be surprised to see us solidly in the field.  I think it's Dayton or bust (NIT).  We'll be playing Tuesday or Wednesday one way or another.

I've thought we would be OUT by a c*nt hair since late night 12/29/18.

That changed this week when I read not one but two articles in the Ny Post by two different writers that said in unequivocal terms after the Depaul victory that we were IN!

They wouldn't write that if it weren't true.  That would be the height of irresponsible journalism.

Have you been reading papers or watching the news on TV the last few years?

Yeah it's looking like avoiding Dayton isn't going to happen. I'd say our chances are 60/40 based on predictions I've seen.

I can see them giving that last 1 or 2 to a mid major like Belmont, because of the bubble being weak AF

Belmont? That's a racetrack in Queens and a team from a one bid conference if ever there was one.

There conference champion is Murray State.  Ours is the defending national champion. They are 0 - 0 against AP polling teams and we're 3 - 2.  There best win/wins is against the worst Ucla team ever and ours is against Nova, Marquette and Vcu.

How could they get in ahead of us?

100%. Spot on post. Committee loves story lines, especially on the the Tuesday Wednesday night play ins

The committee chairman has maintained a very strong tone in interviews about two key issues for us: (1) injuries to key players and how the team responds upon their immediate return and (2) teams with good wins but bad records not doing enough with their opportunities.

The losses in games missed by Ponds and Heron have to stand out more than any such losses by bubble teams due to our lack of depth and reliance on both.

I also think they strongly figure in the completed win @ SH.

Bubble is so weak. Committee might go with mids. Who the hell knows

Final bracket matrix has us as the last team in appearing in 71 of the 104 brackets. Temple is in 72 brackets. First teams out NC State at 45, Belmont 27

They are out. If you just watched this team all year they should be out. The real question is....is it worth getting in only to get killed by Arizona State.

I think Belmont gets in. There has gotta be one mid major in the first four.

My last 4 in prediction ... Belmont, Temple, St. John's and Ohio State

I wouldn't be surprised if Arizona state is first 4 out.

Committee has been throwing curveballs the last few years in regards to the final at large teams.

Last year Syracuse and Arizona State made it over USC and St Marys when most had USC and St Marys in over those 2 teams.

in 2016 they put Tulsa in when NOBODY had them in.

2015 had the surprise inclusion of UCLA.

2014 had NC State who was similar to the 2016 Tulsa team in terms of not really being on most people's radar.

So they've been pretty consistent about putting a team in that most people don't think is getting in. Wouldn't be surprised if there are 2 such teams this year with committee moving to NET from RPI. We'll see.

It was so obvious belmont was getting in. They take a mid major every year
