Dude this was expected for the last 12 months.

I never said it wasn't. My post was in response to all of the recent chatter on here about Ponds' impact on next year's team should he return. Well Ponds is gone and Heron's on deck.

Needless to say, you're stupid, even for an idiot. On the other hand, things are looking dire:

I must say, the redmen.com site is indeed unreadable.

I’ve never seen a fan base so satisfied with finishing in 7th place.

Don't put words in my mouth.  This team hasn't won an Ncaa tournament game in a season starting this centrury. And in 99-00 they won exactly one.

The team just matched the best outcome for any season started in this century and it's 2019. Expecting any more out of them is unfair and ridiculous.

Comparatively speaking we had a good year. However I feel that our upside is limited based on the style of basketball Mullin plays. Do you think we are a well coached team or poorly coached? Not just that but the program isn’t being run well. I believe we are poorly coached and couple that with our talent base and I feel there is need for concern going forward imo.

I thought the players are not and were never the problem?

The players were not the reason our BE record has been so poor the past few seasons. Having said that I don’t mean we couldn’t have used an upgrade in talent, or we should have been competing for BE titles. But going forward, with the loss of Ponds and probably Heron, we are not improving our talent base, mixed that with the coaching I’m not excited about the future. Nothing about this year’s win total gives me hope for next year.

Except for the “other seasons” I would say that’s very fair.

We went 4-14 last year in BE play. Yes we lost LoVett, but we still had Ponds, Ahmed, Simon, Clark, and Owens. The talent was there to do better than that.

I’d say we slightly underachieved that year. Once Lovett went down we were in for a rough time. That 11 game stretch was brutal but more than a few of them could have went the other way. We definitely didn’t over achieve. My real thoughts are that Mullin is not a good coach but I don’t think those grow on trees. I don’t think he’s proven he can’t win here yet either. Some things absolutely need to be changed but those who say we have shown progress under him aren’t making it up out of thin air either.

No ponds, no keita, no problem. Our A+ staff has enough redshirts till 2023, so we can afford to lose 4 more guys and still be good to go next year
