Looks like Phil Pressey will be on Mikes staff.

Isn't he still playing overseas?

If he's joining the staff I hope it's in a DOBO type role and not one of the 3 assistant spots.

Ah it's Paul Pressey not Phil Pressey. Was coaching in the NBA for over 20 years but hasn't been on the bench since 2016. No college experience. Would hope it's some sort of special advisor role

Well I'm confused. Slater tweeted it's Paul Pressey who last coached with the Lakers in 2016. Either way, would prefer somebody with more college coaching experience and recruiting chops for that second assistant spot.

I don't see Paul Presey going to the college ranks at the age of 60, must be Phil. kind of puzzled by this.

Sorry this makes no sense, and frankly I don't trust Andrew Slater anymore. His SJU news sources have been pretty wrong since he started reporting about the coaching search.

I was wondering how Phil Pressey could be in the running because it shows him as still playing for his Turkish club, Besiktas. However it looks like he's terminating his contract with them. Kid's young but was a high level recruit coming out of HS fairly recently so hopefully his background helps him easily relate to today's players.

I think it’s a wise move for a kid his age to swap low level Euro ball for coaching. Set yourself up for the future.

Maybe he is getting on the "Midnight Express"

One of these new hires better be able to deliver a player(s) immediately either via graduate transfer or a currently unsigned/committed kid.

If I were Coach Anderson, I would look to hire a younger guy with prior Big East experience and some strong local ties...

I am just assuming Andy Borman has one of the spots and its not coming until after AAU ends...
