You are over simplifying the issue. When I speak of resources I’m speaking about money. Without access to working capital how are they to profit off the plentiful fishing waters? A rod and twine? Vessels makes the industry.

How are they to take advantage of tourism if cruise lines don’t invest and build ports? Hotel chains don’t invest and build resorts? They have for other tropical islands. Their natural resources are very limited. Who’s going to build up their infrastructure? They have been left to fend for themselves. "With the dawn of 1804, Haiti's highest hour has passed." (Heinl and Heinl, 1978)

Their highest hour has passed because they got off the French tit and were left to be self-governed by a population with an average IQ of 67. What part of that is hard for you to understand? They were doomed by their own stupidity from the start.

If the island had no resources then why were France and Spain so interested in it? You make no sense. Haiti was one of the richest French colonies and produced mass amounts of coffee and sugar (which takes little no infrastructure). It also has a perfect climate for several desirable fruits and can supper cotton. All that takes is seeds and a small amount of planning. Stop making excuses.

Haiti had and still has tremendous natural resources, which can be converted to financial capital. What set them back from the start wasn't IQ it was rampant corruption and I cite here Papa Doc and Baby Doc leading the way. When you strip your population of the access to quality education, health, water and sanitation, energy and democratic empowerment ... and loot the country's resources ... then chance upon a massive earthquake and the clinton foundation ... the road back from hell is steep ... :)

They were stupid for wanting to be free? I wouldn’t call Slavery being on anyone’s tit. It was their finest hour because the world will not work with them. You think a world of Slave nations are now going to support a free slave state that got their freedom through a revolution?

This Country has a history of destroying black communities that were self sufficient and thriving. It was just over 50 years ago that segregation legally ended. How do you think they treated a nation of revolutionary Slaves? Open trade?

You also do know it was illegal to educate Slaves right? Just when I thought you couldn’t be any dumber you surprise me.

The uber-liberal, victimization narrative is factually incorrect. The reason Haiti is lagging far behind is their own doing spurred on as it was by brutal family dictatorships. Now contrast Haiti with the Dominican Republic, which is on the same island and ask why "blacks" on that side of the island are doing way better off. In sociology the term is agency.

If you are looking into countries that destroyed black communities you need not look further than the British, French, Dutch ... This country had little to do with the plight of Haiti (notwithstanding a certain foundation).

They are stupid for having one of the lowest average IQ scores on the planet. Is it that hard to understand? Something went horribly wrong with that gene pool.

They probhibited whites from owning land and that only ends one way. Ask Zimbabwe who recently welcomed white farmers back with parades and tears of Joy after striking them of their land without compensation and them immediately falling into a food crisis.

Have you heard of Rosewood? Greenwood? Seneca Village? Pointing out social injustice whether it’s through violence or social policy which often times contributes to economic disparities is not liberalism. It’s simply speaking the truth.

It is often seen in abusing relationships where the abuser withholds knowledge from the abusee.

Let all the electricians and engineers in the world disappear along with all knowledge of that science. Will you be able to build a power plant with all your intelligence?

Speaking of truth, how many of those communities were governed by democrats? Rosewood, Governor Cary A. Hardee: Democrat. Tulsa, Governor Jack C. Walton: Democrat. Central Park Act in July 1853 which authorized the razing of Seneca Village: Governor Horatio Seymour, Democrat.

According to a study by the American Library of Congress, by the end of the 18th century, there were about 40,000 white landowners, 25,000 black or interracial freedmen and 60,000 slaves in the Spanish colony, compared with approximately 30,000 whites, 27,000 freedmen, and at least 500,000 black slaves in its French counterpart. So to answer your question as to the difference? Black people.

More investment went into the Dominican Republic not so much for the dark side.

This isn’t a party issue. There is blood on the hands of both parties. Which is why I’m a independent.

You don’t make any sense. Haiti was independent in 1804 and electricity was even controlled for almost a 100 years after that. There were no electricians anywhere in the world.

With 79 IQs they weren’t going to invent anything of significance on their own but even a handful of people of slightly above average intelligence can reverse-engineer the works of others. That is exponentially easier.

But you’ve got your mind made up that these people are victims that are only helped or hurt by pale faces.

LOL...it’s a analogy. Yes as a nation they could have done things better to help themselves. Doesn’t diminish the outside forces which contributes to the situation.

And, even with all the investment that went into the DR, they are still ass backwards too. Something about the island of Hispanola, technology and the modern age still hasn't landed there.

Yeah no. You're one of those independents who's completely progressive but calls himself an independent to give his allegedly even minded opinions an air of independence. Whereas you're a doctrinaire liberal. Which party you support, the democrat party, is the party of slavery, segregation and sedition. Every civil rights advancement in the history of the united states was the result of conservative activism in the face of left wing recalcitrance. You and your racist fascist friends should at least have the balls to own your racism and fascism. It is after all your heritage.
