I think he was strapped in or something but there should have been some emergency cord or other means of disconnecting.  On a serious note he is in critical condition.  Doesn't mean we can't make jokes at his expense just that we should feel slightly bad, and yet intellectually superior, while doing it.

That is terrible no doubt about it. I just don't see how he could be "strapped" in because someone had to think of a situation similar to this.
