Dunn is physically superior to Mikey Dixon in every way. Calling the MAAC superior is quite a stretch as well.
I think Dixon could have done well here offensively. It turns out he probably didn’t have enough between the ears to play defense at this level. I’d be surprised if Dunn wasn’t at least above average on that end of the floor.
You defend and support your players regardless of how much of an impact they may or may not have. This ruling is egregious and it goes against everything the NCAA has purported to change going forward.
We are one of the last programs that should be afraid of the NCAA. We may not be a Kansas-type blue blood, but I’d bet we have one of the highest %s of attorneys as alumni or fans—even forum villains like Marillac and Foad. Maybe it’s time we got together and threw that weight around in matters like these. St. John’s is also located in the media capital of the country. We have tons of leverage in situations like these.
I think Dunn is more physically mature as he would be senior. However I do agree he is probably superior athlete but slightly just as MAAC is slightly superior conference than NEC.
Obviously early to tell how they stack up as players but to expect much more out of Dunn is lofty. I also think Dixon should have gotten more burn last year. I think he could have contributed as I think Dunn can as well.
