YOU said what I'm saying and have said isn't true.  So I make a reasonable attempt to prove what I just said is true and you switch the discussion to that I won't acknowledge that you "hate him for Cause"; which I've made no comment about whatsoever and I think might be bad English.

You're delirious.

Since I don't give you a pass on your lies. The "last 4 years" didn't suck. 3 of the last 4 years sucked. The last year was a highly successful campaign for coach Mullin and his charges culminating in the holy grail at Jamaica Estates - an Ncaa tournament bid.

Do you admit that Lavin was a more successful coach than Mullin?

Carmine- can’t wait for lazy ass to get another job. Bring in part time Mitch for player development. He will prove you right. It should be no problem. Coach Mullins improved every year and brought the shit commuter school back to tournament.  I bet he has had 12 or so offers so far. Just waiting for the right opportunity. He deserves it this time. 8 million wasn’t good enough.

Of course. I'm not stupid.

Obviously, Hollywood has had remarkable success in both of his coaching stints. His six consecutive Ncaa tournaments at Ucla including FOUR sweet sixteens and ONE elite 8 is the stuff that legends are made of.

However, comparing the two of them at St. John's is no slam dunk. Lavin danced twice in five tries and Mullin once in four. If Chris was given the opportunity of a fifth season and made the tournament...then it would have been a toss up.

Good job. At least you're not outright lying in this one to support your irrational position of idol hatred.

What about Greg St. Jeans role on the team? Can’t wait for your rationalization of that failure.

I respect a man who admits the truth. Don't forget that Lavin NIT berth against Robert Morris!

That team would have beaten last years by 20. They started off awfully. But they had a great January and February. Just to remind the old guys. You play conference games in January and February.

What about it?  It did appear to me that St. Jean had a large game day role on the staff. I don't care about that. The gym's janitor could help coach and I would be fine with it if they won.  People said Dunlap had a huge role for the previous administration and that didn't bother me either. Why do you say it was a failure when the team improved it's record every season with him as an assistant and qualified for the tournament year 4?

I actually agree with you. That team was way a more more disciplined and better coached team. I love ponds but I think in college id take dangelo over him due to defensive ability and other intangibles not talent.

I agree as long as they win, but from what a lot of people say, Mullin was no where tone found often. He obviously was not out recruiting like he should have been

That Robert Morris team could beat Incarnate Word and NJIT at the same time.

This isn’t entirely true. The team didn't finish with a better record each season where it counted.

The third year was worse than the second. Were there injuries? Yes. Were there players who lost their offer to come here because they were criminals? Yes.

Long story short: don’t hire a person with zero experience, and don’t be stupid enough to make an exception.

When I calm down I feel bad for St. Jean. I think he gave it his absolute all here. I think he did some good things. He was great out of a timeout.I am happy that he is getting a great opportunity to learn. Not his fault he was asked to coach everything.

At the same time I am so happy that he is gone. St. John’s players are not NBA guys. They don’t shoot like them. You can’t win playing 5 guys behind the 3 point line. Everyone is not a 3 point shooter!
St. Jean didn’t know how to prepare the team against zone. He didn’t seem to have a clue coaching defense. The constant switching was sickening to watch. (Texas tech switched when I watched them, didn’t look the same)

We played such poor defense and were so soft, and rebounded terribly.  (that bothered me the most) As did shot selection, position less basketball. I am so happy I will never see a player like Justin Simon spotting up for a 3 pointer on a fast break.

Exactly, that's why Mullin had such a poor record against Syracuse.

That’s actually a great point. Even though you meant it as a shot at me. The double high post worked great both years.
Since those 2 games. Xavier, providence, and Marquette played terrible zones that we couldn’t handle. That is just from memory.
Stick to name calling old man. You don’t know anything about basketball.

For someone as seemingly butch as you sling blade you spend an inordinate amount of time fantasizing about my enormous blood engorged throbbing erections. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
