Anyone got an extra ticket for tonight?

I know we can't take much from the midnight madness that had less defense than the NBA All Star Game but Rasheem Dunn is gonna be our full-time PG. He'll have to play around 30 mpg and then just need to fight our way through the 10 mins per game without him.

I think an easy take away from the game is physically Dunn is our 3rd best player. Don't know about his decision making yet but was strongly encouraged by his ability to handle and looks like a guy who can get to the rim and score.

I think Steere and even Sears looked good. We'll need to see some more how they do in contact but both looked like they can catch and dunk which seriously is a value.

Champagnie looks in best shape I've ever seen him. His length is really good but don't know if he'll ever have speed or strength to compete at this level.

I can't tell if I still hold hope for Earlington or he's bad version of Sean "the black hole" Evans. Curious to what others think. He likes to put the ball on the floor and jack it up.

Earlington certainly likes to get them up and wants to be part of the action. Out of Roberts, sears, steere and him he might be the most skilled. He’s gonna get his chance and I’m excited to see what he does with it.

Earlington is a high IQ, intangibles, dirty work type of player. His skill set is not going to really stand out in an all star game type of setting.

Don't know how anyone can have any takeaways from a midnight madness event where the players are just screwing around. Only thing missing from this years event was Ponds in his hoodie jacking up 35 foot set shots.

Personally I don't see what you are seeing. I think he mostly puts his head down and barrels to the basket.

I think this team will be fine if Dunn plays under control and doesn't try to force things. He's going to be the X-factor this year. I still think NIT is the ceiling this year but wouldn't be all that surprised if this team is able to narrowly avoid Wednesday night of the BET this year.

I expect this team to go small and the majority of minutes at the 1-4 being combinations of Dunn, Heron, LJ, Williams and Caraher with Rutherford, Champagnie and Earlington seeing limited minutes or even DNPCDs in close games.

I also expect us to always have 1 but never 2 of Steere/Roberts/Sears on the floor once Steere is eligible. Sears likely an under 5 mpg guy.

All that said, Anderson might do something completely different and make this post look stupid in no time.

Perhaps.  I see some vulnerability in some of the teams that are a slight rung above us to Anderson's style of play, especially in mid january to mid february games where dudes are sleepwalking at times.  If he can have the guys bring it every night, there's a path to 10+ conference wins with 2 very talented wings, and that will do the trick.

Then why do the most knowledgeable subset of basketball minds possible, rival Big East coaches, pick us to finish 9th.

2 reasons:

1) show me - they know anderson has the chops to do this, but the stench of lazy, selfish hero play from Mullin is what those coaches recall most recently from this squad

2) as Dave has said, Anderson is not a local dude.  He's not completley unknown to these guys, but he's seen as a fish out of water in the big east.  Which he is
