Disgraceful. Historically bad loss.

This is the first time since 1977 that Vermont has been 4-0. This is the first time Vermont has ever beaten any of the ten Big East teams.

Unreal.

We were reduced to 35 foot threes to even be in this game where our guys had superior athletic ability.

Vermont manufactured almost every point with coaching and ball movement.

Anderson got taken to the woodshed. This is one of the most lopsided coaching performances you will ever see.

Where are all the Mullin plays streetball guys now? Wtf does Anderson plays? Bad streetball. Our next effective offensive set will be our first.

Yes. They beat seven seed Syracuse in the NCAA tournament in 1995.

That was a 3 seed.

Neither this game nor that game is vaguely close to the worst loss in SJ history.

Name a worse one. That was an excellent team and Niagara was Niagara

Just finished the game. Kind of mad. Enjoyed plenty of it. Marillac’s meltdown is priceless

‪This Vermont team made the tourney last year, especially with returning players.  We almost pulled it out.  We will get there.‬

Why can’t everyone just admit we are not that talented. Heron is not what we thought he could be. Lamb proved that. LJ same. Stars take over the game. Anderson can call whatever plays he wants but when guys can’t finish, what do you want him to do?! Gotta get to the hole and finish. Lamb did that, we didn’t. Ball game.

No way around it. We need a lot of practice.

Heron plays like Alpha Bangura when he’s not playing well. Pass the damn ball.

LJ avoids contact. He’s in love with that floater he takes when he gets in the lane, but he’s got to get stronger and go to the basket.

Dunn had a fine debut. Reminds me of Colin Charles in some ways.

Very disappointing loss but nothing to lose sleep over.  Some long time posters not giving Anderson the kind of slack they have given every other coach here.

Marillac is having fun with sensational posters.

While I agree we are not that talented we have more than talented to win at home against Vermont early in the season at home in Carnesecca. Also Heron and LJ are really good players. Maybe Heron had a rough game but he's still our best player.

I don't think anyone should make any rash decisions on Anderson or players after this game.

If I was chalking up W/L preseason I probably gave us an L here. Winnable game but you can see the writing on the wall.

I think there are some things you can be critical of Anderson and of players yesterday. Totally fair

That was a 3 seed.

It was actually a four seed and in 2005, not 1995. Other than that I nailed the details.

Niagara was a meaningless road loss in a historic season and SJ was forced to rely on a freshman point guard called Mark Jackson who wasn't very good because their starting PG was injured. Bad losses happen all the time. Reggie Carter, Bernard Rencher and Wayne McKoy lost by 13 to Columbia in 1978. David Russell, McKoy, Billy Goodwin and Kevin Williams lost to Princeton at Alumni Hall. Bootsy, Postell, Barkley and Glover lost to Samford.

Malik Sealy losing to Tulane in the NCAA tournament was a much worse loss than dopey Vermont and in a meaningful game. If I had to pick one game, it's Chris Mullin, David Russell, Kevin Williams, Billy Goodwin and Bill Wennington losing a first round NCAA tournament at Nassau Coliseum, which was about the worst loss in program history.

Yes disappointing loss but not one of our worst losses ever

I've been a fan for nearly 40 years and seen some doozies

One of our best coaching hires ever.  Love the defense
Great atmosphere last night -  now in my first trip to Mohegan I need at least one win

How about hitting a respectable number of free throws!

It was a terrible loss but to a tournament team. Niagara was a joke. I’m talking a
Loss to an awful team. If I have learned anything it’s always  possible to lose in the tournament and every team is somewhat capable. Louie did not take the game seriously.

In '81-'82 NCAA we beat Penn 66-56 on a Friday night and lost to Alabama 69-68 on Sunday afternoon. Agree it was a bad loss but not the worst.

Personally I struggle to see anything Heron does better than LJ.

Heron is better shooting off the bounce. Also generally better at moving with the ball though he gets himself into bad spots doing that.
