You can’t stop making strawmen arguments. Everything I write about Anderson brings you directly to Mullin. I’ve posted for years that Mullin was ok and nothing more. I’ve said that I think Anderson is a better coach multiple times, but you guys think he’s sine hero that deserves a total pass year one.

Guess what, genius? Mullin and  Anderson are a hell of a lot closer as coaches than you and these other clowns try to portray. Mullin was probably slightly under the average coach and Anderson slightly over. Both were fired this year. Neither has ever been known for x’s and o’s. Anderson’s system doesn’t require much skill nor does it require brain power. He doesn’t need a tear to get people on board.

And you don’t rebuild when you have two of the top ten players in the conference...you supplement. No team in the conference has more than two honorees.
Did you ever see the hero in person? Can’t believe you did. Coach fxck you didn’t even talk to his players. Standing around not saying anything for optics isn’t coaching.
If you thought he was anything but a figure head you are lying to yourself. If thought the Team coached by St. Jean was well coached you you are an idiot. That team had no offensive system, took terrible shots, and by choice didn’t go after offensive rebounds. Defense was equally pathetic.
If you can’t see the difference this year. You are blind or lying to your self. Coach Anderson actually coaches. If you go to games you can see him hold players accountable. Guys are getting better. Earlington and Roberts did not look like this last year.
Anderson’s system is easy and he has been SUCCESSFUL with it for years. Mullin didn’t lose because of bad luck or the school being cursed. He was fired for CAUSE. NO ONE will hire him again! Anderson is an above average college basketball coach. Coach Mullin was a lazy bum.

Anyone that thinks this is a rebuilding year or that this should have been a rebuilding project when Anderson was hired is not only nuts, but they are intentionally trying to lower expectations for Anderson.

Really? Is that what they were doing when they pick us to finish 2nd to last? Or is that indicative of the roster CMA was inheriting?

He inherited two Big East Second Team Preseason selections (one who was two-time All-SEC), an athletic monster in Roberts that fits his system perfectly, a guard in Williams that played very well in 10 mpg as a freshman for a tournament team (and fits his system well), a skilled and strong PF in Earlington, and the freshman of the year of a conference better than the America East—with a redshirt under his belt. He also inherited a monster 6’9 260 lb big man from NC State.

He also had a former top 100 recruit that played for a good SEC team that he lost and a top ten JUCO player he failed to re-recruit with a glaring need at the position.

He is the beneficiary of Shamorie’s high school teammate and local kid, Rasheem Dunn, having his coach fired late AND receiving a waiver from the NCAA. Dunn is definitely worthy of a Big East top 7 rotation role for a tournament caliber team.

He also had several months to add recruits, many of whom decommitted or transferred after he was hired.

Ely seemed to be a problem. Talented , but Not even on the team he transferred to anymore. IMO you are overstating Williams talent and if you are not he is either still injured or rusty and getting in shape. He did not practice while injured. Last year Earlington and Roberts could not get off the bench on a thin team , I credit MA for their development. Champagne also developed nicely for a recruit who wasn’t highly ranked. I agree w you MA may have been able to do a better job recruiting. But the truth is it’s too early to really evaluate him. That said,he is likeable ,has a great work ethic and recruits high character, team players.

Dead right. This is NOT a rebuild.

I too like CFC and feel fortunate that he fell into our laps considering the way the coaching search was going.

I expect the Razorback to do poorly mainly because...well We are...St. John's.

The last staff left him with enough horses to have a decent season. Two 2nd team conference selections can not be poo pooed.  Whatever happens good or bad is squarely on his shoulders.

The irony is that nobody expected anything from Roberts ,Earlington and Champagne. They have been pleasant surprises. We all agree Heron and Figgy are BE worthy players. Throw in Dunn and Steere and assume Marillac is right about Williams, That’s 7 to 8 decent  players. Maybe we will exceed expectations. We would have beaten Vermont if Figgy and a Heron didn’t have such bad games.

Of course nobody expected those first 2 names to be impact guys. Just look at them last year. They looked like they couldn't make the roster at Incarnate Word. Now fast forward a year and they look like real BE level players continually improving. However that doesn't fit the narrative of a select few on this board. For them it's more important to be right than to appreciate the development of these kids under Anderson. I'm loving it and its entertaining to watch after years if wanting to pull your hair out.

Also if the most casual observer can't see the difference in the brand of basketball being played (defensive intensity, activity level and crashing the glass on both ends) then they should be watching cricket or badminton instead. It's night and day compared to the last 4 years. Is Anderson the best coach? No. Is he a real, proven college coach who's a vast improvement over the amateur hour we've had here for many years? By far.

Last year no depth. Now we have plenty? You 2 are full of shit. But your right our new coach has to make it work. That’s why gets paid the big bucks.
I love Anderson, but last place won’t be tolerated around here. 11 game losing streaks won’t tolerated either. You 2 enjoy your 2 point loss. I am trusting the process!  Because this time giving 80 points in the first half and not being at all competitive is not part of the process. We finally found a coach.

Your making stuff up again.  Reread my post.  I don't mention depth let alone say we have plenty.

You said we have enough horses to compete.  Assumed u meant horse for players. Having enough players means having enough depth. Or did I not understand the nuance of your post?

Not necessarily.  I know that the Fab Five had enough horses to compete without any depth. I assume the Wonder Five had enough as well and I don't know if they had depth.  Teams with Michael Jordan and Lebron James have enough horses to be decent no matter who else they have. I was implying that Gil Scott and Ed are enough to pull the carriage on their own plus a couple of last years freshmen now look capable as sophs.

Last season was preseason 4. This year preseason 9. This team gained Roberts and Ellington and lost Simon and ponds. What the hell are you talking about?

I don’t think this team finishes in 9th. If it does the coach will deserve some criticism. He does have LJ and heron. But it would be unfair and untrue to say he has the horses and last years team didn’t.

We are obviously both deeper and bigger than last year.

We are better at every position 2-5. The difference at the point is big but even this team has a better second ball-handler than last season even if he only has one hand.

I disagree. I was never a Clarke fan. He starts on this team and plays 25 plus minutes. Ponds still plays 30. As does Simon.

What am I talking about?  This team didn't gain Roberts and Earlington. They had them last year.  The second part about Simon and Ponds is accurate.
