One unintended consequence of @NBADraft being pushed back for early entry kids is that playing opportunities in Europe will be more limited by August & salaries much lower. Guys that get conned into staying in this draft will be filling @nbagleague rosters.

This will ultimately bring LJ back for his senior season.

Are you real fan?

Elijah Hughes is staying in the draft. He’s better than LJ. Not that I think he’s sticking around, but maybe that helps our chances a little of keeping him.

I'm fine with it either way. I think LJ's role changes next year regardless if he comes back. He's not going to have the opportunity to be as ball dominant with more talent around him. As long as he buys into the Anderson team concept more I think he can help us and it really brings our rotation to a true 11 deep.

If he doesn't come back I still think the team and system improves in Year 2 under Anderson.

So I'm good either way with his decision.

How was LJ ball dominant? He didn’t dribble that much at all. Rutherford and Dunn did that.

LJ will be LJ on offense. He will neber be shy.

I’d rather have him than not, but he isn’t a great fit. I think every reasonable poster can admit that we looked at least as good with Williams replacing a far more talented Heron and very likely better. The same will proabably be true of LJ. He’s is a skilled killed that has great hands and knows when to jump passing lanes but he’s not the type of athlete that makes Anserson’s style go.

All those that used to drive us nuts like Sampson and Pointsr would be insanely good with Anderson.

That's why I said I think the team improves either way. It's up to LJ if he wants to buy in to the Anderson concept. I don't think he's a great fit either. Onward and upward.

Garfunkel, your whipping boy out of Arizona would have been the best under CFC.

You don’t think LJ thrives in this system defensively?

Youze guys are crazy.  Loosing your best player is never a plus or even neutral. Ed was playing great ball down the stretch including in the 1st half of our BE tournament championship win in CFC's cockamamie system.

Did you not want Walden back last season because he didn't fit the system? I'm praying LJ is back and starring for us in November.

Having LJ back is a major plus if it happens. He’s our most talented player and best scorer. You don’t lose a guy like that and it end up being a positive unless he’s a cancer. By all accounts and appearances LJ seems like a good team player who likes to win.

I was going to say I agreed you with carmine. LJ is our best player and looked much better as his teammates got more comfortable and improved.
Please explain what his cockamamie system is? When LJ and the guys were winning Down the stretch  it looked like good basketball.

Of course we are a worse team without him.  He'll be our best player walking into next season.  I think he did well in Anderson's system defensively - led the BE in steals I believe, or right there.  Offensively he'll be helped next season by what our roster will look like.  Win/win.

I think we can look at the glass being half full from both sides.

If LJ leaves we may have some talent that steps up.  LJ had his FG percentage go down by 51% to 38% last year.  As our "best player" - a shooter averaging 38% is a rocky foundation.  He also has never shot better than 66% from the line, and shot 62% last year.

With that said, I think we would be better served with LJ staying.  Remember this kid had offers from teams like Louisville at one point, and the talent is there.  You can't teach long arms, the steals, etc.  A senior leader for CMA wouldn't hurt.

Of course the answer lies somewhere in the middle.  If we can get a bit less shake-and-bake LJ from his junior year, and a bit more spot up 3 LJ from his sophomore year then he will be more efficient and effective (and improve pro chances), and the team will do better.  Everyone wins.

The stark reality is each day we don't know, the other transfers are going going gone.  Anyone know the official date LJ has to decide?  Is it still up in the air due to pushed back NBA evals?

Losing LJ would be a major blow to our Nit chances, period.

Regardless of whether LJ returns or plays in China, the most important player on the team will be Posh Alexander.

I keep hearing about how his stock is rising from a strong senior year, but there are no updated high school rankings anywhere.

Our entire class is underrated. Cole is first team all American. I have only watched highlights of the other juco. But he can shoot and doesn’t look that skinny. WSU is jacked and put up numbers similar to posh.

If you don't think Isaiah Moore is skinny you must have been looking at him in a fun mirror. Makes Tariq Owens look like Shaquille O'Neal. LOL

Only saw a few minutes of highlights. The kid was skilled. My expectations were not high

Jeff Goodman has a write-up on "Stay or go" for early draft applicants.  LJ is at the bottom under the heading of "Unlikely to Be Drafted (aka Should Absolutely Return)"
