I still don't understand how the metrics play into where we land presently.  For example, one of the ratings has Seton Hall ahead of us.  I don't understand that.

We have the same record and split our games.  We each beat Uconn sans Bouknight, and they lost the other game with hem.  We both lost to Creighton twice.  Their best conference W is at Xavier, who we split with (they only played them once).  We both split with Gtown.  We beat Prov twice, and they split.  And we beat the best team in the league, who they lost to twice.  OOC, they played a more challenging schedule, and have losses to URI, Oregon and Louisville.  Their only OOC win of any significance is to Penn State, who is not a tournament team.  We likewise beat a team at the bottom of a high major league (BC), but our OOC loss is BYU, a tournament team.

I think it's St. John's lack of quality road wins and losing to DePaul. Mostly losing to DePaul. It just can't happen if you're already an iffy team.

This will be the biggest crapshoot of a selection ever. No one seems to have a good idea of what is going on. People ranking Xavier high although they played half a conference schedule and didn't do that well, people with SHU ahead of St. John's, some who don't even have St. John's on the bubble. I saw one dude not even have St. John's in the NIT discussion. No one seems to really know what's going to happen. I truly think they could get in with one win but wouldn't be mad if they didn't. They should get in with two and I'd be annoyed if they didn't. Obviously three is a moot point with the auto bid.

The Depaul home loss is a killer, obviously. Road W

If we get a win or two in BET it's definitely possible. This year is so crazy.

Win one we have a chance (with some luck), win two and I think that becomes a strong chance.  Win none, and we should still make the NIT.

We need 2 wins in the BET to be close to an at large. Nothing less. At that point just win 1 more game and guarantee it.

I am with LoganK 1 and we will be close 2 locks it. What we really need is providence (76) to get into top 75 in Net as the wins against them go from Quad 2 & 3 wins to Quad 1 & 2 wins that will jump our net ranking higher.

Not done yet but pretty good year for a team of MAAC level recruits to finish 4 in the big east.

Going to be really tough with how UConn is playing. St. John's has a really good draw to make the finals, it'll be on them if they don't get there.

Hate saying this but UConn with Boukknight is the best team in the Big East ...if he plays full year he walks away with player of year and UConn is prob a 3 seed in NCAA tourney....but anything can happen at MSG. Just have to take one game at a time.

No doubt but we can beat them if we're on.

Another mixed bag over the weekend in bubble land

St. Louis lost to St. Bonaventure by 18 in the A-10 semis on Saturday.
Duke also lost by 18 on Saturday (to UNC).
Memphis lost on a buzzer beater against Houston yesterday.
Drake lost to Loyola-Chi in the MVC finals.
Xavier lost to Marquette on Saturday.

Michigan State is probably in after a win vs. Michigan.
Wichita State is a lock after winning American reg season title on Saturday.
Utah State won on the road on Sat.

Ole Miss has a nice draw in the SEC tournament - South Carolina followed by LSU. Win those two and they might be in.

Duke plays BC on Tuesday. Cuse plays NC State on Wednesday.

I'd say the following teams are realistically competing for the last four spots:
Drake, Boise State, Xavier, Colorado State, Seton Hall, St. John's, Utah State, Syracuse, Ole Miss

Outside shot - Duke, Saint Louis, Memphis, St. Mary's

Keep in mind that the BE is down this year. After Seton Hall's late season collapse a lot of experts are saying this could only be a 3 invite league.

We are not the First 4 out, or the next 4 out. We'd be after that. Most likely need to win the BET to qualify. Anything less than 2 wins and no shot.

The NIT isn't an easy invite this year either. Only 16 teams invited.

SH is 58 and Nova is 11 in the NET. If we win both it will be a complete lock. How is this even debatable?

If we beat SHU and lose to Nova we're out. Don't even need to watch on Sunday.

If we beat SHU + Nova then lose in the championship game we are squarely on the bubble depending on how other bubble teams like Colorado State, Boise State, Utah State, Syracuse, Ole Miss etc fare. If we're in we're likely in the play-in game again.

Have to remember there's a bunch of teams we have to jump and there's always a chance of bid stealers emerging and shrinking the good side of the bubble by a team or two.

There is no way that a team can finish 4th in the Big East, make the championship game, and not get a bid. None.

We would have ended the season winning 11 out of our last 15. We would have everything but the NET ranking you

Our resume can change a lot with just a slight move from either prov or DePaul. Prov moving from 77 into the top 75 makes our road win a quad 1 and our home win a quad 2.

DePaul is 164 in the NET. If they get to 160 then our lose goes from Q4 to Q3. And the Q4 loss is our black eye. DePaul and Prov play each other so at least one of these should happen.

Take away our Q4 loss and there is no way X or Hall should be above us on the cut line. We
