Man, you are just a miserable guy. It will be okay, fella.

it sucks to not make the tournament and moral victories are meaningless

it would certainly be better if they do make it next year, but who knows

We were set up to make a run so this is very disappointing. We had to beat a medicore SH and a bottom feeder G'town team to make it to Saturday night.

They couldn't have asked for an easier draw and they couldn't do it. I don't know what was a bigger gut punch, this or losing to DePaul. The team can be pretty good so these things shouldn't be happening.

Bummer to have Moore out. Reminds me of the Obekpa situation. Moore is a big momentum guy for the Johnnies and there was no momentum to carry the team today.

Overall a good season but 3 big frustrating losses including this one to close the season. Hopefully next year can bring a stable and methodical offense on games we can

Saw this on Twitter and thought it fit:

disappointed but not surprised.

JC picked a bad day to have such a bad game as the path to the final was laid out for us.

The usual way to finish a St. John
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

I don't understand how folks can consider this a good season, mediocre at best with a like of hype an too many bad losses.

We aren't the St. John's of old.  We aren't even the Arkansas of the last decade.  Any time I can have hope for the NCAA tournament late in the season, I usually consider that to be positive.  I thought we'd be on the bubble and we were until we lost in OT in the conference quarterfinals.

It was a good season because we exceeded expectations by about 4 or 5 wins.

Hype? There was no hype at all that I saw.

It was a good season and went beyond expectations at 16-11. I expect St. John's to be invited to the NIT, which means they should be playing next Wednesday or Thursday, which should be great experience for the team ...

Julian Champagnie's individual improvement. Posh's ability to look like a top guard in conference. Moore having some potential. Winning a few games we didn't plan on winning.

I'd say this year was better than expected even by optimistic fans.

The question is will we take another step forward next year?

A one and six team closed it out 10-10 and easily could have done better. We have a real coach so some of us feel positive.

Fans don't realize he has only finished in the top 25 three times in 20 years. He is a just good enough coach. He wins enough for people to like him but hasn't gotten programs over the hurdle consistently enough. Next year is his best shot to turn this boat.

Yes, they should be playing in the NIT, but I read on the other board that they might not accept a NIT bid because the bubble is in Texas, which is silly.
They have that right to not accept but the women tournament is being held in Texas, don't think any women teams would decline if invited.

International studies including a Danish study published by the American College of Physicians have proven that wearing masks makes NO significant difference in the spread or infection rate of Covid-19. Interestingly, the states in the US with the most heavily enforced mask mandates have also had the highest infection rates.

I think the players felt that the juice was not worth the squeeze.  They've already sacrificed a lot to get this season in, they did not want to continue to do so for the NIT.  If they had made the NCAA, I imagine they would have participated.

Not to get too into this, but that study only looked at whether or not a surgical mask protected the wearer, which is not the main intent of masks.  If you are sick and you wear a mask, you are less likely to infect someone else.
