ESPN Big East 2021-22 predictions
« on: October 19, 2021, 05:09:09 PM »
Lunardi & Co. have SJU unanimously finishing 5th in conference.  While I hope for better, I can see this scenario playing out with all of the new players we have coming in.  Might take time for the team to play well consistently, or maybe this team is no better than 5th place in the BE. Thoughts?

We are not easy to predict because of so many new players. If you look at the programs that our transfers went to, none of them landed at a high major program. That’s telling.

What do we have coming in? I’m not sure. I’ve seen most of the transfers play, but only a little.

Anyone know what we have in Coburn, Smith, Nyiwe, Wheeler, and Mathis?

and don't forget the big Fordham import Soriano.

Right. That’s a big one, indeed. We have to hope he can replace Josh Roberts. I’m hopeful he can be better. And before people laugh, Toro put up nearly 7 and 7 in the A10. The Big East is not the A10.

Top 5 BE teams are loaded. Can see any of them finishing 2-5. Butler could make a run to the top 5 as well.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

i hope we stick it up the Bristol crew's ass! Lunardi never likes us, and I've been critical of Mike Anderson. That being said I feel like the program is in the best shape since Spring 2000.

I don’t care where we finish in the regular season standings, I just want to be in the semis of BET and win a game or two in the NCAA tournament.

I am not going to get my hopes up, but Posh is so damn good. If we can get a big man to finally step up, someone makes shots consistently from three, and 1-2 guys sworn on defense with Posh it could be a fun year.

Now is right about the time we should start to hear about a kid transferring, having surgery, or just doesn’t want to play basketball at all for fear of slipping on a banana peel.

High as 3 low as 6 is pretty realistic assuming we stay healthy
