Why is Wheeler allowed to shoot threes or handle the ball 14 games in?

Today was better, but we still need to figure out our front court. Soriano leaves his feet on d like it’s his first day. Stanley has to play more. We know Nyiwe can defend. He’s rusty. I think he’ll contribute. IDK how much more we can expect out of Soriano. He’s terrified.

I’m not sure what his % is overall but Wheeler has been good from 3 his last few games. I like having the D having to respect that if nothing else, especially with how Champagnie moves without the ball. Wheeler definitely shouldn’t be dribbling as much as he does, no doubt about that.

Is Wusu a shooter now? Guy has been fantastic in BE play. Also liking what Mathis has been bringing. My main complaint about MA teams is we haven’t seen many (if any) exciting/explosive/athletic type guys. Mathis (and hopefully Stanley) only guys that really bring that.

Wusu isn't the problem but he is the problem. He has been the 2nd best player on a team with NCAA tourney aspirations.

Posh took a step in the right direction today.

Was 3 for 6 in the UConn game overall. Since BE play began he is 8 for 15. I agree there’s a risk of over confidence, but I also think if used right it will clear the lane up a bunch.

Unfortunately I don't think it is, I guess he's not watching the same games we are watching. Even JC missed at least two bunnies just yesterday and if you count getting your shot blocked as a miss(which statistically it does count as a missed shot) Wusu must lead the league. Even Posh misses a lot of close in shots because he likes to challenge the trees and given his height disadvantage should be given credit for making his fair share because all of our big men have an even more difficult time finishing at the rim.

Fair enough, dug up a shot chart, Wusu has been below average on the season (tho right around average when I started watching 4 games ago). Champagnie has been excellent (8% above average) and Posh has been above average (4% above league average, better recently).

But he missed the one that counted. I don’t have a problem with him taking a wide open three in the middle of the game, but he can’t be taking a game-winning three from the corner with seconds remaining. He makes too many mistakes. Also, who is rebounding the shot? Hitting the offensive glass is his greatest asset. We can’t have Champ and another forward on the perimeter.
