And Cain was better than good for us his senior year. He was brilliant. Best on the ball defender we've ever had. Ran the show wonderfully and had a sweet pull up.

If Cain was so brilliant, how come the legend Louie didnt see it?

What about Reggie Jessie? I saw him play in High School and was impressed. He just never got any better, I guess he hit his ceiling

I also forgot James Scott

Derek Brown started off well, than crapped the bed

He got hurt.
Louie should have played him over Sproling his freshman year!

Wasnt Browns freshman year his best?

Didn't play much that year. Had a good Sophmore year,Mahoney's 1st year

When did Felipe come, Browns junior year?

It would have been Brown's junior year, but he missed it with a knee injury and was never the same. When he did come back Mahoney had him playing out of position at the point.

To answer your Cain question, he should have played more but he seemed to lack confidence and Buchanon who was a good player was ahead of him.

So if Cain was "brilliant",  Jason Buchanan should have been fantastic or an all america ;)

Over the year's I have seen a bunch of players that I thought should have gotten more time under Louie, but honestly I never thought Cain was one of them. His last year was amazing but truly came out of nowhere and might have been the most pleasant surprise I have seen since I have been a fan of the program!

Who else? :o

1.Felipe
2.Rob Werdann
3.David Cain
4.Lamont Hamilton

I love Marcus Hatten, but does him getting absolutely no shot in the NBA make him overrated?

Hatten not making the NBA maes the NBA overrated. I hate the NBA.

There are plenty of guys in the League who had no idea what to do when they went up against Marcus Hatten.

Werdann played on winning teams. He went up against Alonzo Mourning, Derrick Coleman and Luther Wright. And he held his own. He wasn't great, but he would be the best player on our team now. By far.

Lopez and Hamilton were garbage. No coach could make them great. So we know now, it was always them who failed us.

Cain had an amazing season in 92-93. We actually did better with him running the show, after Sealy, Werdann, Sproling and Buchanon left. But it was because of him that we had a good year.

Luther Wright should in no way and never again be mentioned in the same sentence as Alonzo Mourning and Derrick Coleman. Luther was big, thats about it

He was 7'2, and when he wanted to, he was decent.
Still a load for anyone to guard.

Daryll Hill.  You have to be good to be overrated and he came in a top 25 player.  Injuries, coaching, and lack of talent around him surely added to this, but overall he was rather disappointing.

Remember your post when Kennedy, Horne and Boothe shoot 3-25 against the Cuse zone!

i thought about redding.  he was lights out at k-state before transferring to us.  he lost something in the one year he had to sit out before getting eligible.  bernard rencher is another.  he was a top ten player in high school who went to notre dame...then transferred to us.  he had a nice career...but not top ten high schooler career.

that's because he was a two or three star (out of five) talent in high school.  that's what he plays like in college.  he's a good player.

Lamont Hamilton was the reason that we had victories over Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Virginia Tech. He also dropped 23 in the first half against Notre Dame. His career could have been better but part of the reason may be the point guard he played with. For anyone to say he was garbage doesn't make sense.

Is anyone going to dare to put Daryl "Showtime" Hill on the list? Pre-injury of course. He was a scoring machine but shot terrible percentages and had high turnovers. Or do we cut him slack because he was a one man wrecking crew?

No. Brother carry the team when they got nobody.
Bad FG and TOs is natural fo the situation.
