I'm getting tired of people say people are making excuses. There is a difference from fact and excuse.

Fact: Our best two players are hurt

Excuse: We lost because we didn't have our best two players

Fact: We could have used our best two players

Excuse: We lost because we didn't have our best two players

Also its one loss...I saw many things I didn't like in the game but I also saw some things I did. That goes for both the players and the coaches.

I want to see how we respond against Miami and PC.

It's tiring for sure.  But I don't know if it's all that deep.  I think there's a perception that St. John's is and was so different that they have to do things differently.  Think back to the Jarvis firing and the Pitt incident.  If the administration doesn't lose its freaking mind and

- decide to fire a coach early season (crippling recruiting and moving ahead a foregone conclusion);
- make comments about "the culture" after the Pitt incident - where no one died, and the players were exonerated;
- doesn't decide it needs to open the coffers to get an experienced, competitive coach;

maybe things come out different.  But the incident was treated like the worst thing since I don't know what.  And now?  The problem isn't deep, it's in the final decision-maker.  Money's going into the facilities, and hopefully - and this comes down to the decision-maker - this is the make or break year for the coaching staff.

that's an excellent post choz.  one of the best yet.

virginia tech is on the same level as boston college.

we couldn't beat bc WITH mase jr and burrell.

this is not a big east quality team...it's a big east embarassment.

In all fairness VT is supposed to be a better team than BC. I don't hold much stock in preseason polls but just pointing this out. VT is about 8 points away from being top 25 team. Most people expected us to lose against VT so I'm not sure why there is such an outcry when we didn't win. However I think after seeing both teams play VT/BC are very similar in talent.

let's see how the acc plays out.

fact...we bought nine wins from the lowest level division one programs.

fact...we played two teams from a "bcs" conference and we lost them both.

fact...there were 30-thousand empty seats at the world's most famous arena during the two day tournament.

fact...there are always those who will see all this in a "half full" mode.

Can't say it better than that - one wonders if this program will ever return to "prominence" (or as newsie likes to say, "mediocrity").  What we all wouldn't give for some mediocrity right now.

We are not winning more than 5-6 games TOPS the rest of the season with 20 games left.  It's obvious now.

I do have to admit that I am tired of alot of things that Choz mentioned as well.

However, I somewhat agree with you. I did see somethings I liked (at least in the first half to third of the game). The remainder was just painful to watch. I also think that Boothe's minor injury had something to do with him turning the ball over so many times.

Also, I wouldn't mind if NORM made a big/bold statement if we get blown away in the Miami game and bench all of his main players in place of the walk ons! If that wouldn't get the players fired up then nothing would!
