Letter to the AD
« on: March 12, 2009, 10:16:11 AM »
Dear Mr. Monasch,
I am sure that you are busy so I will not take up much of your time. I grew up in the shadows of the SJU campus and have been attending games since I was 6 years old in 1975. Over the past 34 years I have attended too many games to count and like fans of any school have seen several ups and downs. Throughout that time I have been more interested in how hard ALL the SJU teams have played and how well prepared they have been. After the Jarvis years it was tough to explain to my son why we would no longer be going to any of the games. I understand the universities position towards Norm, how he has brought calm to a situation that had bordered on the brink of disaster. I have had the pleasure of meeting Norm and he has been kind and charming to both myself and my son so it is with a heavy heart that I wrote to you pleading on behalf of all fans, alumni and followers of the program that I ask, no BEG you to please replace Norm Roberts. The team is ill prepared and these young men are continually put in a position to fail. Excuses for his failures are never ending and quite frankly are getting tired. The state of the program is embarrassing and unfortunately their appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel.  Every year that goes by without a change is a year that we go deeper into irrelevance. So please Mr. Monasch the future of this once proud program is in your hands, be the man who helps restore it, not the one of buries it, Thank you for your time.

I will. I am not the type to write letters but it is almost like he is keeping Norm to spite people and prove his initial decision to hire him is correct. To see kids, and thats what they are continually put in a situation where they have NO chance of success is tough to watch.

Good letter, my dad still gives money to the school(has his MBA from there), maybe a couple hundred a year, I told him, to instead of giving a check, send them back something thats says I will not donate anymore till Norm Roberts is fired.

Can someone provide a link to the university site to send emails of how the fanbase is so upset with the direction we have been going in the last 5 yrs. I am not the most computer savy person.

Unfortunately Monasch can wall paper his walls with all these letters, but it does not matter! As long as the team is not an embarrassment off the court, it can be embarrassing on the court and it will not matter!

Monasch didn't hire Roberts.  Nice letter by the way.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

you're not getting a response...i have 4 alumni of st johns in my family, two of them, all conference for st johns softball over their 4 years, my father actually donating his time on occasion to help with the team (he is a physician) all of which was said in the letter i wrote to him, which unlike my posts on here lately was actually not mean in the slightest bit, and he couldnt be bothered to respond...hopefully he just didnt read my letter, bc if a family who put generation after generation in that school cant get their emails returned then thats sad on st johns part

Everyone should write the AD. No reason not to. He's either completely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMpsttlXye8&feature=relateded, or he has no control over the program at all, and never did.

Either way, the fans need to heard. What's left of them.

Anyone wearing red today? If you are, you are then exempt from this request.
