Coaching Carousel and its impact on St. John's

So lets take a look at all the scenarios and what does it mean for St. John's?

If Floyd goes to Zona, then Dixon goes to USC, and if Sean Miller is next in line for Pitt does that mean Kevin Parrom becomes available?

If Henry decides to go to Kansas then does Lance come here by default?

What about some other possibilities any of them out there?

Who knows if enough guys lose jobs and schools get confused, perhaps Norm will end up at Virginia Tech and we can steal whoever's left.   

all i know is norm has to be like a vulture. not a hawk but vulture. and when the lions beat each other up and are tired u swoop down and pick up the pieces. like parrom and if pearl leaves then brian williams. there is gonna be alot of point guards left out there go get one. its gonna be a frenzy. u might wanna go at a big boy like sydney.

DeAndre Liggins, Andrew Steele, Holloway or even Woodall.
Four freshman point guards they ought to inquire about are Vilarino, Jontel Evans, Xavier Thames, and Ben Eblen?

I was going to start a similar thread, and I like the Metaphor you used Kobe , a vulture is the perfect animal for this situation.

SJU has to take a look at all the rosters from the recent coaching changes, look at their SO to incoming recruits and see who is from NY, I think those are the players who have a miniscule chance of coming to SJU

As the carousel revolves I guess we have to take a look at who Xavier & Memphis hires to expand the list of possible transfer or recruits opting out.

I agree with Choz.  I don't see St. John's being a player for transfers - too much uncertainty - and it'd be hard to get in on guys, especially west coast guys, this late in the recruiting game. 

But Norm does find some players in the late period - Quincy, DJ, Evans.

Exactly.  Until Norm proves otherwise, I am going to assume he is going to fail on adding additional talent to this team.  And I would be a complete hypocrite if I turned around and pointed the finger at any of the players for not wanting to come here.

If Durand Scott was not considering St. John's in the end and nothing has chnaged at St. John's, what would make you think he would pick St. John's the second time around..? The kid went to Miam over UConn. . he is going to have big time schools after him, schools that Norm has proven over and over he can't out recruit.

I'm not saying this is the situation here but some schools that may have been in his interest may not have a scholly anymore for him and aren't willing to shun someone who is already committed to their team. Therefore he must look elsewhere outside of the acc

  So ESPN is stating through rivals.com that according to X's father, Xavier wants to play at Kansas and with his brother CJ.  They will file an appeal with the NCAA  so CJ doesn't have to sit out the year.  Assuming this transpires, Lance is left at Kansas' altar.  Does he come here by default?  If not,  should Norm just pack his bags and leave in shame?  There is no way this should not work out in SJU's favor.  If it doesn't, Norm should resign.  Simply can't get it done.

boo3, couldn't agree more.  This situation is a gift falling right into Norm's lap.  Logic would suggest that if Lance was between Kansas, SJU, or Maryland and Kansas then rejected him, SJU or Maryland would be in a position to benefit.  However, if Lance turns around and signs with another program, then the writing is on the wall (then again, it's been on the wall for the last 3 years).

If anybody on this board really thinks that a combination of Mason, Lawrence, and Hardy will elevate this team to an NCAA Tournament, let me be the first to tell them they're outta their mind.  They need a difference maker on the court and, if they don't land Lance, they won't be bringing one in (not a surprise since Norm hasn't been able to land 1 in 6 recruiting classes).

If by some chance the team does crack the NIT Tournament next season, I still can't wait to see how the nice persons running this school try and spin it.  It'll surely be interesting ... and depressing.

Wonder what are chances with Parrom are if Miller leaves?

I think Lance chooses another school if Kansas leaves him at the altar.  Norm is a bridesmaid and nothing more.
