Big East Next Year

Big East Next Year

This is how I see it, things could drastically change with defections. What do you got?

1. Syracuse (depends on who stays though)

2. West Virginia (alot coming back)

3.  Villanova (great class coming in,with Reynolds and Coreys)

4. UConn (I hate putting them here, but they still have talent)

5. Seton Hall (everyone back, plus bigtime additions)

6. Louisville (they lose alot talent)

7. Cincinatti (Vaughn,Gates, and everyone else back,also PG returning-they could move up)

8. St Johns (everyone back,plus Mase and nice freshman class)

9. Marquette (Lose the top 3 players for last couple of years,good class comin in)

10. Pitt (Lose everyone,suprised Dixon didnt take a job elsewhere)

11. Georgetown (lose Summers/Sapp,maybe Monroe?)

12. Notre Dame (lose too much, they were bad with Harangody)

13. Rutgers (Rosario and Echenique?)

14. Providence (lose everybody)

15. South Florida (Dominque Jones cant do it alone)

16. DePaul (???????)

Are you serious with Uconn at four and Cincy at seven?  Cincy will be very good next year.  You really give G'town no respect.  LOL

I said Cincy can move up,they probably will. Where do you see UConn finishing? You love Kemba, they get Dyson back.

Way to go out on a limb.  ::) Seton Hall and Cincy probably make the biggest jumps, with St Johns not too far behind

idk about seton hall and st johns but the rest i cant argue with....pretty good prediction as of right now, but if certain people go pro that list will be shaken up alot

Believe me, its pains me to put Seton Hall there. I hate Gonzo, but they have some good players getting eligible and Hazell is a stud. Where do you see St Johns finishing?

I agree we have to see who declares and who transfers, but as of now we are a top 8 Big east team no excuses. We will go about 10 deep next year we should up the tempo. I want the VMI coach as an assistant with this team, it would be crazy.

What makes you think all 6 shooting guards will be here next year?

Quincy was out of position, not necessarily terrible.  His handle wasn't what it was made out to be; he needs to work on his shot a little, but the stroke and the mechanics aren't terrible.

If Cuse loses Flynn,Harris and Dorf or even 2 of them they gotta move down to about the 5th or 6th spot

Good list, Marco.  A few observations ...

1. Syracuse - As you said, this depends on who stays and who leaves.  And it is appearing that Flynn, Devendorf, and Harris might all be gone.  If that is the case, they'll be closer to #10 than #1.

3. Villanova - Regardless of who leaves from Syracuse, I think this is your #1 seed next year.  Bringing in 4 top-75 recruits next year on top of an already good team.  They're gonna be especially tough to beat.

4. UConn - They'll probably be top-7 or 8, but I think it's a bit of a reach to put them this high.

In regards to SJU, I think #7 or #8 is probably a solid spot.  Question is, is this enough?  Personally, I don't think so.  6 years and the highest he can get us is top-7 or 8 in the conference?  On a team mainly consisting of juniors?  As far as I'm concerned, if they don't make the tournament next year (and the Big East is not gonna have 7 teams in the tournament next year, I believe), he should undoubtedly be fired.

Then again, we shouldn't even be having this conversation as he should be gone already.

Only thing about Villanova is they lose their entire front court which was thin as is this year. They will have a wealth of guards thats for sure but I'd be worried about that front court.

Flynn signs with an agent.  This is a big blow for Cuse, as they were a top 5 team with him back.

Interesting to see how Boeheim does- he's been playing 6-7 man basketball for the past 2 years!

And people seem to really love the promise of the incoming Villanova center Yarou.

Cincinnati could be something serious next year...

Suppoosedly they're saying up in Cuse that he didn't sign yet, but if he were to sign with an agent it would be with this guy Rose.
