http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/6421330.htmlHouston Cougars starting forward Qa’rraan Calhoun ultimately could decide to return for his senior season.
Calhoun is considering leaving the program to play professionally in Europe.
While Calhoun is doing some soul-searching and seeing what his options are, nobody on the UH coaching staff is telling him not to let the door hit him on his backside on the way out.
Calhoun, after all, is still a UH student in good standing. What’s more, Cougars coach Tom Penders likes having Calhoun in the program.
“He’s a real good kid,†Penders said. “He’s a fun kid to coach and be around.â€
“I fully understand the dilemma.â€
Calhoun recently became a father. He is feeling financial pressure and doesn’t have a ready-made support system.
