Wright or Wrong?
« on: July 12, 2009, 11:19:21 PM »
Larry Wright's facebook status....

He would have gotten a shit load of playing time last season and would have been entering into his senior year. Maybe Larry jumped ship a little to early. I wish him the best of success where he is at.

I'm not a big fan of playing what if's but where do you think he would have fit into this rotation? Also would we have not recruited Tyshwan and therefore not have recruited Hardy?

I'm not totally sure what the FB status means.  I hope he sticks with it - he'll be on a good team next year with a good coach and a bunch of scorers.  He might not actually start - but he will get his.  That Oakland team is going to be knocking on the tournament door.

What basis do you have to make that statement at all?  With Paris and DJ playing so well, Larry would have gotten his typical 10 mins a game average.  Larry was right to leave.

Edmondson and Roberts averaged ~ 30 minutes a game between the two of them. Many or most of those minutes would've been Wright's.

Edmonson was supposed to be the back up pg. He wasn't good enough to do that at the D1 level. Having Wright transfer was horrible.

That said, Horne is a better player than Wright, because he showed that he can score, and that he hustles on both sides of the court. Wright could barely put it on the floor.

He certainly couldn't do it against Big East teams. Horne kept improving as the season wore on. Hardy, Lawrence or Brownlee are going to have put together a more attractive package in practice to take his job away.

For now, it's Horne's.

Wright would be a senior this year if he stayed, correct? Unless he improved his defense dramatically he would be a spectator for his senior season

Maybe he's working a camp or something at an actual high school?  Oakland is loaded.  They could be just as good as Siena was this past year.
