Pretty sure florida's back court was just as bad, if you count brewer as the 3.
I'll bet you a $100 it wasn't as good.
Who bets people money? Grow up, Poison.
Get me the stats, I'd be interested. I can't even remember the other guy in the FL back court besides Taurean Green --- some shooter I think.
Didn't that entire Florida team play in the NBA?
They say you need two NBA players to make a run at the final four.
John Wallace was a borderline NBA talent. That was it on Syracuse.
No one else even sniffed the league.
What is your point? Your argument is that the Cuse backcourt was the worst in finals history. The fact that Florida had 3 NBA guys does NOT mean that their backcourt wasn't worse. They won 2 titles. We all know those 3 were awesome. The argument is worst back court of a team appearing in the finals. Please present some facts that support that rather than total conjecture which has no relevance.
What is my point? I don't know how I can spell it out for you with any more clarity.
I'll try one last time.
The point is Boeheim always fields a good team. Always. They may not always go far in the dance, but they are never a bottom feeder. Ever. When he made it to the finals in 96, he did it with great coaching and savvy recruiting, which he never gets enough credit for.
If you don't remember how limited in talent Lazerus Sims and Jason Cipolla were, I can't help ya. Maybe you were too young to remember them? They were both slow on defense, Sims couldn't shoot straight for 3 years, and wound up starting when Michael Lloyd left the school, and Stephon Marbury chose the ACC over Syracuse.
And for Cipolla, all he could do was make an open jumper now and then. He made some big ones that year, but he couldn't put it on the floor, and he couldn't move his feet on defense. Guys like Taurean Green are on another level. He's on an NBA roster.
What round were Sims and Cipolla taken in?
Be afraid of Jim Boeheim when he takes the time to brag, because he never does that.
He has nothing left to prove. No accomplishment to reach.
If he says his new guys can play, believe him. It's because they can.
