The only chance we have to be any good at all, is if one of the newcomers can handle the point, because Malik Boothe is an NEC point guard, and probably a middle of the road talent in that league, too.

Ok, hold up.  That's not true at all.  And those new guys are not going to displace Malik B as the starting point.  He needs to prove he's an impact player on the BE level, but the middle of the NEC is like Division II, and that's a harsh assessment of Malik.  He's got faults, for sure; but I'd put some blame on the coaching rather than the players. He's got speed, decent passing ability, toughness, and steals the ball.

What is going to make the biggest impact this is having players that can stretch the defense. Dwight Hardy and Mason are the 2 key players that can accomplish that task.

Stretching the defense is going to really help Justin who has a great mid range jump shot.

I'm surprised at how Malik gets absolutely no credit for returning from an injury that would've caused more than a few guys to say "I'll sit the rest of the year and have a clean slate next season" Also Boothe will likely benefit not only from the rest Stith will give him but from having extra ballhandlers, real second guards on the floor.  The days are over when a pure point guard could  handle the ball himself for 40 minutes.  Pressure defense is to ingrained in basketball now.
Hardy and Lawrence are important not only because they're needed to score but because they're needed to move the ball with both the dribble and pass.  Also, nothing wrong with playing 4 perimeter guys at a time. Kennedy may not be the team's best rebounder statistically but he really goes after the ball.  Spread the floor and play him at PF...Villanova and other programs have had great success doing it.

  Everybody hated David Cain till his senior season.  Not ready to give up on Malik yet.  I love his heart and desire.

LOL , I would have to agree but he does have leadership qualities which is an important tangible for putting a winning team on the floor.Leaders don't have to get PT , if he could be our 3rd string PG it would be most beneficial to the team
