Please go easy with the comments regarding him improving, that could be misconstrued by some posters as saying that the staff developed him into a much improved player. We would not want to throw a monkey wrench into the whole Norm Sucks-This Staff is Worthless argument!

Otherwise we might have to go back and revisit this earlier post:

Dele is a straight up enigma. No joke.
Brother oughta be much better than he is.

Who does the blame for that fall upon..   the player or the staff..?

coker needs to be starting alongside evans...although coker has been inconsistent and sort of an $#%hole at times, give him a shot this season...if he can block shots, alter shots, and make some baskets inside as he did against georgia, then he is far and away better than burrell...at least coker goes hard and plays with intensity, burrell has just been disappointing with his play the last year and a half, and everytime hes in the game i feel we are at a disadvantage...kid has no motor...and everytime coker is in i feel like hes really into it on both offense and defense looking for opportunities to knock the ball either through the rim or into the stands

Signs of Coker's improvement were there last year and his timing, footwork and focus are far better this season. He can be a difference maker in the BE by transforming our most vulnerable defensive area (under the basket) into less inviting turf.
Coker is also beginning to capitalize on the easy baskets available to alert bigs underneath and his artfully executed head fake against Georgia was a joy to behold.

I think Coker, Evans, and Burrell all need to slam it down more when they often lay it up. Too many times do we grab offensive boards and miss put backs. Go up hard and throw it down with authority!

That head fake was the play of the game.

That head fake was the play of the game.

I think it was a tie with DJ's drive and spin for a layup.  Coker's play was good because it showed an awareness that we haven't really seen from him.  GA had a distinct size advantage up front and had blocked numerous shots prior to that play.

Stir the pot why don't ya!  Dele lost 40 lbs.  that's personal improvement and the biggest reason for his development IMO..  no coach can take credit for that,  even Norm

i disagree, they need to head fake and go up stronger with their body, but focus on getting the points not the dunk. honestly our dudes are not going to thow down facial dunks on the front line of bigeast teams. let em dunk in transition but missed dunks and blocked shots that could have been easy layups we the most embarrassing and frustrating thing our team did last year.

Do you know why blown dunks always get a big crowd reaction?  Because they rarely happen.  I, too, prefer to see guys go up and dun the ball.  It is better that the player not try to do anything spectacular---rather, just but the ball through the basket with authority.  I hate when guys miss the easy lay in---the Lamont Hamilto special.  You also generally avoid someone coming in and making the spectacular block.  It is rare that a dunk is blocked without a foul being called.
