Gtown is overrated. They've shown nothing that says they're ready for the season. Especially not to the tune of a top ranked program—which is where experts seem to think they'll finish.

It's a generous prediction that really comes from the coach's recent success.

Underrated, I'd go with Marquette. Their system scares me more than their players. If you already have talented players in your system, with good coaching, they step up and perform just like then guys who left.

This is what I expect from Marquette. 25 wins, and at least an NCAA victory.

Overrated:  UND, they've already proven that they can't ride Harangoady's broad shoulders with better talent than they'll have this year.

Underrated:  UConn, I've seen them as low as 20-25 in a couple preseason polls.  They've got one of the best starting backcourts in the country and a solid frontcourt with plenty of size and flexibility.

Re Marquette, their system was based around 3 guards with NBA potential.  Let's see how it does with out any except potentially one freshman and no size to speak of.

It's true, they lost 3 great guards. It will be interesting to see how they do.

Overrated: ND or Pitt
Underated: Call me overly optimistic if you want.... But I think it's our team. I haven't seen any publication or website that has us above 10/11 in the Big East. I think we will be a top 8 team in the BE this year.

Underrated:

UConn- I think you will see Stanley Robinson emerge as one of the best players in the league this year and become a 1st Round Draft pick for next year.

Overrated:

Gtown - but they will still be in the top half of the league.

I think Gtown is a better candidate for a bounce back season than ND is. Anyone agree or disagree?

Notre Dame has a legit All American. GTown has a potential All American.

True, but GTown has a lot of guys who were highly touted 4-5 star recruits to play along side Monroe.  5 guys on the team were top 10 at their position in their class coming out of HS and Clark was close.

Nothing against him but Ty Nash is Brey's premier recruit from the last three classes.  He does have the transfers Hansborough and especially Martin.  Their play will be key.

GTown has more upside but I do agree that they are likely to disappoint if they couldn't do it last year with Summers.  UND is just likely to be disappointinger.

Not all top 10 recruits should have been top 10. On paper, they should have smoked us twice. They didn't.

Agreed but in games played at the Garden STJ beat UND worse than they beat GTown either time.

Another key to this season for STJ.  Win more than 1 conference road game.  (only been done once since 02/03) and have a quality road win (not since Duke in 02/03).

Ooops.  I live LA so that's the road to me.  Well we beat Nova and Georgetown on the road that year too.  Guess the last ranked team we beat on the road must be BC in 01/02. :o

I agree on Georgetown being overrated. IMO, they have an overrated coach and the PG Wright is awful.

Wright is 10x better than anyone we've had last few years.  I bet he makes one of the all- league teams this year.

GTown can make the dance and still be overrated if everyone has them in their top 20.
