We need Hardy to play 25+ or we'll be the same team were last year.

I just don't see Horne's minutes dropping to 18. His minutes should go down,
but he's a starter. He's earned that much.

I have no idea what Norm is going to do in regards who plays.  ONe thing i'll predict is that no one will avg 30 mins a game.

Mason Jr. getting 30 min a game will be disaster.  For no other reason than he'll get hurt again. Admittingly i haven't seen the new guys play yet, but from what i've read and heard, I hope that Hardy gets more than 10 min.  a game.  Hopefully at Mason's expense.
Nothing against Mase, i'd just rather see him get 18-20 min.

It's important to note that the most amount of minutes there can be in total is 200. (5X40). However, this has 215 minutes.

Unless he really steps it up I don't see Mason getting 30 minutes.  More like 25 on average.  I agree with B-squared...I don't see anyone getting to 30 except maybe Burrell (if he returns to the player we all think he could be).
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

was just an over under on minutes, i didn't try to add up to 200 and I rouded up instead of saying someone would play 12 I made it 15. Frankly I am surprised I was as close to 200 as I was. Truthfully I do not expect Coker and Roberts to play most nights.

Nobody on this team will be guaranteed x amount of minutes per game with the exception of Boothe and the Evans/Burrell combo. Everyone else will play different amount of minutes each game depending on who we are playing and who is playing well. So in summary it will vary from game to game.

Why is Boothe guaranteed minutes?
The pg that is guaranteed minutes is the one that wins.

I'd say:

Boothe 25/ Stith 15 is a good estimate.

Thomas gets his minutes cut into, as does Mase; I think the staff may actually want to see more high-effort minutes out of him.  he might start out logging 30+ per game but unless he improves his D (I thought he was better at staying in position when he played last yr, even blocking shots, which he should with his height) and slashes to the basket, I think he gets lots of "breaks".

DJ Kennedy will get the most minutes.  He doesn't have another player who can approximate what he does - getting to the line, defending, defensive rebounding.  Unless Coker/ Burrell/ Evans get better at snatching up boards.

Lawrence, Roberts, and either Coker or Thomas will log a lot of DNPs.  I think Coker might get the most minutes out of those 4. He blocks shots and is the only player with real size.

Boothe        26 min
Stith           14
Hardy          14
P Horne       24
Omari           4
Roberts         2
Kennedy      24
Mason         24
Rob Thomas   8
Brownlee       8
Burrell         24
Evans         24
Coker           4

can't assume Hardy, Brownlee & Omari too
many minutes till we see more than Canada.
Thats assuming 100% healthy.

1st 10-15 games can't see anyone averaging 30 min/g

My hope is that Hardy, Brownlee and Omari all see significant minutes.
If they don't, are we not the same team that lost BE games by 30 last year?

The team needs a face lift, not a band aid. Having another pg is nice, but
we need scoring, passing, rebounds and blocked shots, too.

Maybe he's improved, but at the BE level, he could find a position. Needs intense work on ball handling and decision making.

Unfortunately, decision making is basically instinct.
I think he's likely to be the last man off the bench.

I think Q needs to not be the main decision maker, and his decisions would be better. Seriously, he can attack the basket, but as a passing/ point guard, he wasn't that great.  His decision making can be worked on, though. It's his handle that needs some shoring up.

But I would rather see him become a scorer. Decent-looking stroke, once he figures out how to use it, when to take the runner, etc.

I'd love to see him redshirt so he has one year with the current squad, and then his junior and senior years to get some serious playing time.

Norm had him playing point because he failed to recruit a decent backup. It's up to Norm to fix him now.

Posion.... I didn't mean gauranteed the way you are taking it. At this point, there isn't anyone with the ball handling skills that Boothe has. Therefore, I think he is going to get at least 20 mins at the PG position. Additionally, Burrell and Evans are proven big men and will take up most of the mins at the PF/C spot.

Slightly off topic.... does anyone see Omari playing any point mins? Everything I read indicates he has a good handle and can pass.

Here is my assumptions for the begining of the year:
Evans      27
Burrell      27
R. Thomas  8
Coker      10
J. Brownlee 9
Kennedy      19
Mason      18
Horne      19
Hardy      19
Q. Roberts  8
Omari      8
Stith      8
Boothe      20

If Omari and or Dwight can bring it up, that would be great.
It would actually make us dangerous.

Unless he improves, and I do hope he does Malik's running of the offense won't get us where we need to be.
