PHILADELPHIA -- St. John's has stood on this cliff before and fallen hard and fast.

They had climbed to the jump point two years ago after beating Marist in the MSG Holiday Festival, only to get cracked in the championship game by Virginia Tech.

Last year they took out Georgetown in a first-round Big East Tournament game, but Marquette undressed the Red Storm so badly it left some players in tears.
