« on: December 03, 2009, 09:20:38 AM »
I was trying to find the stats, but couldn't.

How has Duke faired in the last couple years following a loss? Are they known for never losing 2 in a row or more? Someone help me out...should be a key point for the game on Saturday

Make it ugly. We need to put so much defence pressure on them. Ware them down.

And they're at home?  Oh, this isn't gonna be pretty.

Duke lost two in a row last year before spanking St. John's.  And what their tendencies are doesn't really matter - few teams really get into a huge funk of losing, and Duke's teams have been elite enough that there are only a handful of squads good enough to deliver them a loss on their schedule.

Expect them to come out firing.  Wisconsin slowed the game to a crawl, shot extremely well, and didn't turn the ball over - wait, they turned the ball over 5 times.

Think on that.  We turn the ball over 13 times a game.

The guys on the Duke boards we have links to said that Duke has lost the last few years prior to the st johns game, and then come out firing against us. Idk how many times in a row its been, but them coming off a loss isnt gonna help us.

i just checked it out on espn, looking back at the last 5 years.

coming off a loss. (in the regular season)

last year = 4-1
08= 2-1
07= 3-5
06= 1-1
05= 3-1
total = 13-9

also, in the same situation as this, coming off a road loss to play at home, duke is 7-2 over the last 5 years. (those 2 losses being florida st. in 07, and UNC in 06)

 this isnt your usual duke team...coach k had so much faith in nolan that he brought in a highschool eligible guard(dawkins)...they are not athletic, not consistant...pressure the ball, sheyer is not a pg, and neither is Nolan, Dawkins will be running the point come March..Singler cant do it all by himself..zoubek is a stiff..the good plumlee brother is still getting in shape after breaking his wrist..this duke team is not that good..they are way OVERRATED>>
