First half, first possession he went up for a shot and made it and fell on a foot and rolled his ankle.

Cheap shot from a Dukie.  Went up for a J and the Dukie stepped right into his landing zone.  Cheap shot IMO.

IMO Its a cheap shot.  They didn't get tangled up.  If you step under a guy after he takes a jumpshot its a cheapshot.  It looked intentional to me.  Ask Reggie Miller how many times teams tried to get in his head by stepping into his landing zone hoping he would turn his ankle.

Please tell me your kidding. It called turning around and blocking out for a rebound.  Boy, we are stretching today.

I kind of agree with jumpinjohnny.  If he's trying to box out, his foot should't be under Burrell.  I think there was an attempt to trip, if not cause the ankle sprain.

I believe it was Zoebek , but i may be wrong.   Your telling me that their 7' 2" goon,  on the very first play of the game,  has the forsight and maliciousness to purposely stick his foot so Burrell lands on it!!!  That is the most absurd thing i've heard in a long time. It happens all the time in games.

Totally agree with you JJ!!!  He didn't just get his toes in his landing zone....he had his whole foot.  That type of play happens in basketball...and the majority of time it's an accident....this was not one of those times!!!

It wasn't Zoubek.  It was Miiles Plumlee.  Some teams have that in their playbook.

I didn't say he purposefully hurt him.  Nobody is skilled enough to put your foot exactly beneath someone else's.  But he purposefully stepped into his landing zone.  I rewatched with the DVR and he took an unusual step underneath Burrell.  It didn't look like a box out.  I seen other players do it and it had happened to me several times.  Dirty players use that technique either to hurt someone or to get in a player's head.

At minimum, you trip the guy and keep him away from the rebound.  At best, you get him out of the game.  Either way, it's a dirty play.

It was Plumlee.  While Justin's got to watch for that, it was a cheap shot.  The rebound isn't coming out to the three point line.  He put his foot out there.  I think Bruce Bowen has that in his playbook.

It's ok.  College ball is filled with cheap shots; our guys get "physical" and when it's not called, there are some eager bumps.

Duke plays like this. They stick their hips out on screens, they grab jerseys, etc. They are very good at it and I'm not sure this was malicious or not but it sucks. I think Burrell would have helped in this game. I hope this doesn't keep him out long.

i think the fact that he came out later on in the game is a positive sign. probably a bad sprain, i wouldn't expect him to miss more than 2 games, if any.

although the one thing im worried about is the fact that sprains can lead to more sprains in the future, this could come back again later on..... :-\

At least Burrell wasn't raped.

Perhaps you have selective memory, but the whore/prostitute/druggie that claimed she was raped by the duke lax team, wasn't raped either.

I have to say I am very impressed that you guys caught that. I  thought  it was inadvertant when I saw it live. But after further review and like you I used the DVR as well as the ESPN replay and slow motion.......it  sure wasn't a box out. He just extended  his right foot way out to Burell while sideways. Besides who boxes out on  shot away from the hoop while the player is up in the air. That was purposeful.

You are so right PETER. BUT......just how is JUSTIN suppose to "watch for that" while scoring a nice turn around jumper on a 6' 11" Mcdonald American and while in the air with his eyes lasered on the basket as he is scoring the ball. Lets hope he recovers fast. It was especially troubling, cause I was pretty sure JUSTIN was gonna have a great game and show his talent.
