Also, I don't think we're going to see attendance improving much until St. John's is good on the national level again. Being an NCAA bubble team isn't going to cause a significant increase.
I moved back to Texas at the end of 2007, and during the two years I lived in NYC, I went to almost every big time college game played at MSG. The only ones that were close to full involved Duke. College basketball simply isn't a big draw in the city anymore, even when Kevin Durant, O.J. Mayo, and Michael Beasley are in town.
The attendance at the Georgia game was flat out embarrassing on national TV, and in HD no less. Miles and miles of empty seats and about 10 students for what was supposedly a 'home' game.
