Fordham at St. John's- 3,708

Kentucky and Uconn at msg... sold out msg,... I don't even think the NYK do that

Many think Norm is the biggest problem with SJU bball, but real fans know that the fans are main reason why top recruits go elsewhere.

But the complete lack of fan support is stunning on our own home court.
Nobody cares, and nobody has for has for two decades.

Even with Hatten we couldn't sell. I love NY, but man, I hate NY fans. What frontrunners.

Kentucky and UCONN didnt sell out MSG.  More than half the blue seats were empty.

every 5 minutes on espn they claimed it was sold out, also seat can easily be empty and people still be there or the tickets can be sold and they didnt show up

There was noone on the entire side of the blue seats where the camera thing/hockey announcers sit.  If ESPN said it was sold out though, maybe they just weren't selling those seats.

Um guys, I was there, uconn and Uk DID sell out MSG? I'm sorry to disagree w you, but I saw an atmosphere at MSG that I hadn't seen since Duke SJU in 1999.

It was incredible. How did you miss that? Both teams were great. Programs like Uconn, Cuse, Nova and Pitt are infused by our lack of effort. We've made them
better. MSG is their house now.

An alleged 3,700 for a weekend game between two local schools in easily the nation's largest metro area...Wow, I think if the Liberty and the LPGA All-Stars played a charity hoops game at MSG, they could draw 5k in NYC.

 The school newspaper ought to do a piece on both the attendance and the arbitrary crowd noise policies.

What crowd noise policies?  And maybe if the University would treat their season ticket holders and students a little bit better, they would build up a fan base.

I was @ the uconn uk game and it didn't look sold out to me..the whole 400 section looked empty except for half court..i n most big events boosters will buy tikets and then sell them independently idk if that was the case either way the atmosphere was AMAZING..the whole game I couldn't help but think and hope that stj can come bak to that..jus imagining that place that loud for one of are games gives me chills..I jus hope people start coming out for these kids it would jus make them more motivated to play hard..and make some higher end recruits look a little harder

Coming from NJ it costs me at least $30 to drive or take train up. Then tickets costs on top of that is just too much.

Coming from other areas of NY is probably less expensive but time traveled + tickets costs its much easier to enjoy the game from home.

If tickets were cheaper I think you'd see a larger increase in attendance. Simple economics what is better?

Maybe on a shear level 3,500 at $20 a ticket makes more money than 6,000 at $10 but you have to factor in so much more than that.

Concessions would sell more, merchandise would sell more (especially if they'd open the book store before and after games why have it closed?), also sponsors would be more inclined to toss you more money with more butts in the seats and thats where the real money is at.

if you want cheap tickets ask bc us guys on campus with season passes can pick them up for a lot cheaper

comming from the dorms takes 3 minutes, and the student tickets are 5,... we are a big enough university that we should be able to get 1000 students easily, we didnt even have the 500 for the free shirts

that's sad. what do you have to do to get students excited about big east basketball. unfortunatley a lot of the blame should be put on their shoulders. we have a 5k seat arena. should easily be half filled with students

its really hard to get other students excited about basketball, when we play teams like brown no one wants to go, and when we play someone like notre dame or a big east opponent its usually at msg, which isnt easy to get friends to go to either, and its sad that at msg there are so many fans of the opposing teams

bigeast games at CA should have a better showing. students should be free.

I agree I feel when we get teams like seton hall n marquette @ CA it will be packd but its understandable for some students not to get excited about brown liu ect.

Other teams having such good fan support @ msg upsets me 2..hopefully if the team starts winning we start getting more pub. And more people come out and support this team..we gota take msg back as OUR place its been embarissing these past few years..

As my handle shows, I'm a former student from Texas, and I live back in Austin. I try to make it up once a year. Last year, I went the weekend we played NJIT at CA and Texas played Villanova at the Garden. It was my first time going out of school and I could not believe I was being charged $30 to see St. John's play NJIT.

I can get into Texas basketball games for as little as $6. To see the #2 ranked team in the nation. Face value on Texas' lower level seats are $40.

I realize it's NYC and things are generally going to be more expensive, but save those ticket prices for the Garden. It's Carnesecca Arena–an on-campus gym, and for the most part, the only games played there come against teams that won't even sniff the CBI. For the average fan, it's not worth it in a good economy, let alone right now.

Also, I don't think we're going to see attendance improving much until St. John's is good on the national level again. Being an NCAA bubble team isn't going to cause a significant increase.

I moved back to Texas at the end of 2007, and during the two years I lived in NYC, I went to almost every big time college game played at MSG. The only ones that were close to full involved Duke. College basketball simply isn't a big draw in the city anymore, even when Kevin Durant, O.J. Mayo, and Michael Beasley are in town.

The attendance at the Georgia game was flat out embarrassing on national TV, and in HD no less. Miles and miles of empty seats and about 10 students for what was supposedly a 'home' game.

Honestly the ticket prices don't bother me too much but then again I prolly don't have as many bills and responsibilities as y'all..lol..but I paid $15 for the double header wed..I was in the 300 but that was also the closest I could get tix

I come form hartford ct and this year I'm tryin to make atleast 5 games..no less..but for me to get to ny I have to take about a hr drive down to new haven..then pay 28 for a roundtrip train ticket..last year for the nd game I got 3 tix in sec 78 for 45$ each..that seems decent to me..I don't drive so I. Usually bring a group of friends and pay for their tickets as long as they go hard for stj..lol..my biggest problem is getting to CA..I kno I have to get on the f train but where would I catch that in manhatten..and how much does a day pass cost..id really liike to get out to queens for both the seton hall and marquette games
