Thomas Manzano

I remember his name, hes a local kid who we might have had interest a few years back? Hes on Goodmans mid season transfer list with no destination yet, should we have some interest?

He was born in '87... that makes him a 22 year old sophomore.  Just saying.

If he can go to Community College for another year, yeah, maybe he can play here... but I wouldn't ask someone else to leave to bring this kid in.  Lots of good young NYC guards for 2011.

Ya I think I remember Manzano being a head case?

Norm needs to watch this list VERY carefully.  Every year there are players that can really make a difference. 

Imagine if we can pick up a stud to add to an already NCAA Tournament caliber team?  The kid would only miss the first 9 games of the season.

Myles Mack and Myles Davis, Mike Taylor, Jermaine Sanders, Jabari Hinds - and there will be others, like how Paris Horne came from seemingly nowhere.  Enough that we shouldn't have to take a risk on an older kid unless he can make a real impact and won't be a headband-thrower.  Not saying that about Manzano, but it gives me pause when a guy bounces around from school to school well into his 20's, you know?  But I don't know the kid.

In all fairness, he went to Wyoming.
Maybe the lack of pressure got to him?

Admittedly, I'd leave Laramie, Wyoming, too.  At least for Boulder or Ft. Collins...

I'm sorry I thought you meant literally NYC guards because so many people locally have a parochial view and don't put the NJ, LI, or Westchester players in the same boat, despite the obvious proximity. I figured you would mention Corey Edwards, Mike Taylor, and perhaps Grace. One could add prospects like Derrick Wilson (Gauchos), Tyrone Johnson (NJ), Freddie Wilson (CT), Naadir Tharpe (more of a regional pick), Sledge, or Gibbs. I believe Sanders is getting recruited largely as a 3, due to lateral speed.
