This score prediction is tough because the teams are playing back-to-back games and both have logged a lot of games the last three weeks.  Exhaustion could really be a factor here.  There also will not be much of a crowd at 9:00.  In a normal game at CA, I'd say the teams combine for 170 points easily.  I really wouldn't be all that shocked if they were under 140 tonight or if they hit 170+.

The team is winning and that is great, however our offense is awful and tough to watch. Basically it is the same offense as the last 6 years. Again winning is great, I just don't understand how some of the people on these boards think we haev an improved offense. We are averaging 70.8 points a game. If it is a high scoring game it means Cornell caught fire from three and blew us out.

I don't think this is the same offense at all.  I see a bunch of kids attacking the rim.  Hardy, Kennedy, Boothe, Omari, and even Paris are making efforts to get to the basket.  That was simply nonexistent during Norm's first five years.

We also push the ball well--although we need to keep it up better.  Kids are cutting hard and finishing.  I even like the dribble weave and high screen with this group when Boothe, Hardy, and Kennedy are in together.  Any one of the the three can get to the basket with a step and a head of steam.

We're not Princeton in the half court, but we're not STJ from the last five years either.

We are watching different games!Again 70.8! In the halfcourt we mostly stand around.Three different announcerS have commented about it. Again we are winning, which is better than losing, but to me I can't get too excited becuase it seems like FOOLS GOLD. I think our lack of scoring is going to be a problem!

Bobby Knight only referred to it in our time-killing offense.  That doesn't count.  I didn't hear the other two references so I can't comment on them.  This team would be the piss out of last year's team.

ESPN.com's simulator picks Cornell to win 71.3 to 71.0 and gives Cornell a 50.9% chance to win.

The offense "looks" different because the players are better and more athletic.  I believe the half court offense is the same, except the players are better.  Norm HAS added more of a fast break offense which is great.  The half court offense is pitiful as usual and when we have Boothe and Coker in there together you can see just how bad it is because 2 positions are being filled with non-threats.

St. John's 72-Cornell 68
Bonus Pick: Hofstra 72, Davidson 69

I do like their blog, though. Whoever runs that does a great job of collecting info on everything related to their program and the ancient eight

Clearly we have more talent, but the kids are actually attacking the basket.  That is how basketball is supposed to be played.  Last year it was either a dump in to the bigs or a three.  As a team we are cutting more and driving A LOT more.

I'm not saying that is necessarily coaching as opposed to better players or players evolving...I'm just saying it is different and refreshing.  We seem to be able to score when we have to, and in a number of different ways.

Better & evolving players were necessary, but it is most definitely coaching.

Offense is ugly but we have a go to guy and more scoring options add that with Boothe coming up with big plays when needed...equals ugly but better.
