bryant post game

i didnt see any posts about it on here, and i know that many did not see this game, but, i have some thoughts on this one.

it was nice to blow out a team we should blow out, however,  i have to bring up one point.

freethrows are KILLING us. 15 for 31. 48%.

its terrible. the worst was after a foul, and then a technical by the same player for saying something to the ref.

dj kennedy comes to the line to shoot the freethrows for the tech. misses both
evans comes to the line to shoot the free throws for the foul. misses them both.

4 back to back misses.

i yelled across the court, at the top of my lungs, that norm needs to have them shoot freethrows in practice.  its pathetic.

i really hope it starts to get better. otherwise, i think im gunna lose it.

I also thought the games low point was when we missed 4 ft's in a row following the intentional and technical.

The games highpoint was the walkon with no name on his jersey going 2 - 2 for 4 pts and walkon #4 hitting a ft and getting a dime in garbage time.

That #4 is no Liam Biesty, however.  He was missing shots by a lot.  I guess they jinxed him giving him geno's old number.

not much to stay.  Bryant is not good so hard to take anything from this game.

Nice to see Horne hitting his shots though.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

5 against one and Kobe still scored 44? That is embarrasing!

How did the Ugly Sweater night turn out? Very creative promotion.

Norm should have worn the famous Lou Sweater. Like John T did.

why can't the walkons have their names on their jerseys?

oh, and after last night game, we're shooting a pathetic 64% from the line for the year.

real intelligent banter at the game to scream "shoot more free throws in practice norm" as if they dont shoot free throws, get serious

I say go in the opposite direction.  Stop stressing the need to improve free throw shooting.  Let the guys get more mentally relaxed.  Stressing over it only makes it more difficult to hit free throws.

so if putting in more time in practice for free throw shooting [technique, concentration, motion] isnt the answer.

what would you suggest then? praying?

But the players know that they have to improve the free throws. See Evans and Horne quotes after playing Bryant.

you get zero points for windmills and crossovers.  the points come from putting the ball in the basket.
