Merry Christmas Guys! I know this isn't the 1985 version of our Johnnies but it isn't the Abe Keita version either. I hope you guys are enjoying this season as much as I am. Have a great holiday!

Merry Christmas to all posters and to our St. John's players and staff who are making this basketball season much more exciting than it's been in quite a while.

Also looks like Seton Hall is giving West Virginia a nice little fight at the start of the 2nd half in Jersey.

Hazell was incredible yesterday too bad the rest of Seton Hall just stood around and watched him. Also looked like WVU slept walked through that game.

I seem to be in the minority...but I think Huggy did a terrible coaching job at the end of that game.

Hazzell was 14-33 from the field,4-19 from 3. Incredible my ass

Please refrain from using facts to back up your argument, the announcers certainly did.

I bet you thought this was an incredible performance at the time! Same deal, guy is supposed to shoot a lot , defense knows it, keys up on him, guy takes tough shots, shooting % gets skewed!

Don't recall if I thought that was incredible though Hatten did manage that line taking 22% less shots than Hazell and did it on a team that started a walk-on at the other guard spot, had six assists (to 0 for Hazell) and got to the line twice as much.  Where as Hazell apparently shot every time he touched it, didn't pass nor dribble nor play D (ergo no turnovers or steals either).

I watched the game, saw a guy who could shoot well and therefore considers it a license to chuck it up at every opportunity.  Good for him, bad for teammates who supposedly are so much more talented than what SJU has on it's squad.

I said the guy is a scorer but if you've watched him and Marcus and think they're close as all around basketball players then we are interested in different aspects of the game.

I loved Hatten, and he was really the last great player we have had, but he was not a great all around player! Great scorer who played the passing lanes well. Hazzell will play in the pros and Mo did not sniff the NBA.
As far as that game UCONN was in the top 5 at the the time so I am sure you and I and everyone else who was of age on this board was gushing about his performance at the time. The only reason I remembered this game was becuase I remember being shocked at the box score the next day. I am sure if you go to Redmen, you will see plenty of the same similar shooting % games in his two years here!
